I was thinking of jumping ship from HLJ to Amiami since the 0D is like $13-$14 cheaper there but i think ill stay with HLJ for peace of mind.
Cheaper at NY too. But I'm sticking with HLJ. Because if there's anything wrong with your 0D----HLJ is about the only company that's willing to try to help.
NY overcharges on shipping so they will balance out. But i agree paying 13-14 bucks more for peace of mind are worth it
When I lived in the UK, getting anything Macross was horrible. You guys think that you have it tough in the US? In the end, I simply gave up. I would check the sites when I got to work and 90% of the time whatever was released had gone, but I got my VF-171CF that way. Just random chance. At the time, I couldnt believe my luck, and... well... we all know how that turned out. But, that was the first time that I had managed to get anything on pre-order, ever. Before that, I was playing catchup with VF-25 v1 and YF-19 v1.5, and then the VF-25 v2 hit, the 27 v2 and the 29, and they were all utterly out of my reach. Since moving out here to Singapore though, its only one hour difference from Japan, and that has helped. Thats what allowed me to get the 30 and grab that 19 Advance.... I dont think that I have ever been disappointed by a Bandai Valk to be honest, but I have mostly known what I was getting into in advance and I have been pretty lucky with QC in general. Even my VF-25G v1 is mostly solid with only a slightly floppy crotch (!) and hips, but nothing major. It probably helps that I dont display. My stuff sits in its boxes and gets air time whenever I feel like a new toy. The closest that I have come to disappointment was probably the tail fins on the SV-51 (although it still ranks in my top four Macross 1/60 designs), the fragility of the VF-0A in general, and the shoulders on the VF-1, but even they are minor issues. Maybe I am just easily pleased. I have a lot more time for Bandais stupid reduced order circus than I do for Arcadias dumb price hikes, but thats been aired here before and I know that I am in the minority. I look at it this way, Bandai stuff eventually makes its way to the secondary market and there is ends up at Arcadia prices anyway, so the only real difference is for the 10% of people who DO manage to grab a pre-order at the 'retail price'. In general though, I have a much more relaxed attitude to Macross now than I used to. I am not after every single design, and although I have a 'shopping list' I dont expect to get them all. Its just a list of stuff that I will buy if I have the opportunity, but I already know that I wont get them all, so now every one I do get is a bonus, instead of feeling down about every one that I miss. I found NY shipping to be OK. I got my 30 from there and didnt notice a bad shipping price, but its Singapore which may be more reasonable being within Asia.
Thank God I don't like those Bandai Valks Anybody have any input on these Arcadia stands? AmiAmi [Character & Hobby Shop] | Macross Simple Display Stand(Released)
Given that I have v1 of the 25 and 27, what would be recommended for purchase; 25 v2, 27 v2 or 29? Thanks.
Hmm... I guess. Honestly, though, I only ever had one problem with the 25 v1 and thats the Gerwalk A-stance. I dont care about line art accuracy and I just want an awesome jet mecha. Articulated hands are nice I suppose, but the rest is pretty minor in my mind. Plus, although I have the other two v1's they didnt come out with me when I moved, and all I have out here are the 30, 51 and Koenig, and the 19 when it comes. Plus, I dont have any of the renewals, so it doesnt really matter how much better they are than the v1. After a bit of reading, it seems that the 27 is two steps forwards and one step back from the v1, so thats probably last on the list. I am leaning towards the 29, simply because I have the v1 25 RVF and G already back home. But, if I get 29 I really want the anniversary (yes, even more than the 29b!) and thats twice the price of the 25s.... But I have a bit of extra cash and the 29 Anniversary isnt going to get cheaper, and I got get the cheaper 25 at another time as it costs less. Decisions, decision.....
Lots of transformation photos of the 1/60 VF-0D and some tidbits about the 1/60 VF-0A "renewal" from Arcadia's site. ?????? 1/60 ???? VF-0D ?????? ??????? ????? |??????? - 0D's final production colors appear closer to Michel's 25G than Shin's 0D from the Zero anime - Old Ghost Booster compatible with "renewal" 0S/A - Shin Kudo's VF-0A "renewal" planned for summer
Kawamori strikes again! I was hoping for a lighter tint of blue, similar to the last sample that was photographed prior to this. That does it, I'm keeping my Ghost drone! I wish the 0A/S Renewal lacked the pitot tubes and the antenna extensions on the vertical stabilizers. They aren't present in the Master Files books and while they're doujinshi books, Kawamori did sign off on them. Those bits are easy to either break off and remove and the profile looks better IMO without them.
I have to be honest, the color of the 0D is one of the things that has quelled my excitement for it. I just think of Max when I look at it. Kind of curious why they went so dark on it.
Same here. The 2nd painted sample looked dead on. Kawamori probably just wants uniformity with his blue VF's but I still prefer animation accurate.
That blue is... Unfortunate... Still excited for it though. at the pics with arrows pointing to the places that will draw blood. But what's with the paint scratches already?
I love the blue! Accuracy be damned! Paint scratches? More like places to put masking tape. Unfortunately, those tabs will lose paint regardless. Why not mask the tabs from ever being painted.
I'm torn. I really don't like the dark blue. The lighter "military" blue (what I call it) looked so much better and really made this stand out. I'm seriously considering canceling my expensive preorder. Are other versions coming out too? What colors are those?
I think those paint scratches are from just being idle. No masking tape can save it! Hit the panic button! VF-0A Shin Kudo which is gray with white highlights and Roy's VF-0S with black and yellow highlights on an off white.
