First priority---get a Yamato VF19. Almost all of them can be obtained for below retail prices.

For the rest, I am unsure what to really recommend...I've owned all of them at some point, so here's my analysis...

Yamato VF11B/C: Simple and effective, utilizes neat tricks to cover up gaps in battroid/gerwalk mode. Wooden articulation though, can't really get many poses out of its legs in battroid besides kneeling poses as the side to side movement is minimal.

Yamato VF17: Not really a fan. Tons of die-cast, but not much you can do in battroid mode. Mine felt flimsy all around for the locking points.

Yamato YF21/VF22S: One of my favourites. Has aged, but besides the awkward hips [once they get loose, you're screwed] it was decent. Nifty articulation all around.

Arcadia YF19: Based on the very popular VF19 mould, but with some tweaks that made it a bit unpopular with fans. Do not have one yet.

VF0S: Very aged and not terribly good. Would not go for one as Arcadia has an all new VF0D coming out soon.

SV51: Very impressive but generally flawed. The thing looks good in animation and CAD but where physical laws apply it comes off short.

From bandai's offerings, the VF27 and YF29 are very, very similar to almost identical in transformation to the VF25 you already have. The VF171 generally fares badly among fans, and the green cannon fodder version has plastic that crumbles so beware of that.

Don't forget the Bandai VF-19 Advanced.
    Fastpacks and everything.

No news on the preorder date yet.

Masei Macross VF-1 helmets should be shipping this week.

I'll get a ton of photos when it arrives...hopefully before New Years.

    That is all. :D

Aside from that, I am looking to add a 29 to my collection. You might want to add in a 171/17. As mentioned, the Zero birds are wonderful but a bit dated (although the 51 is in my top 4 of all time, but thats just me).

I dont own but am also not sold on the 21/22. I would love an 11 if they reissued it... any one, I am not fussy. That would cover most of the bases I think, but really the best thing is to just look around and see what grabs you. Most people find that they end up picking up several decos of their favourites anyway.

*insert standard complaint from me about dumb pricing here*

I agree! I have the 1/48 Hikaru VF-1J and the GBP armor, but that $170 price is sorely tempting.

I imagine they left off any tampo or extras. Might not even have missiles haha.
Still, it's worth having for sure. I'm getting two!

You have one of those? So jealous! I would easily double dip if this set came with the effect parts.

This is how I like to display it. Those old Yamato stands are the tits. I'm so glad I bought a few during one of HLJ's big sales years ago. It would be cool if Arcadia made them again.

If Arcadia would release those effect parts again, I'd gladly abandon my 1/48s and go all 1/60.
