Just wonder what folk's opinions are on the Armored Parts for the VF-25S renewal. I don't plan to use the stand to display it. I had the Armor for the V1 VF-25S, but like most everyone else's, the VF-25S disintegrated underneath all of the massive plastic armor. Is the Renewal Armor lighter? It certainly looks more detailed. Does it damage the VF-25S renewal at all?
The verdict is still out on the v2 25. Only time will tell if it holds up. That reminds me, I should check it every once in a while. I would be plenty irate if it shattered all six torso joints like it did on my v1 25S.
In your opinion, are the armor parts worth getting? I had such a bad experience with the V1 Armor parts.
Okay. I'm absolutely BAFFLED as to why my 171EX has wobbly legs yet the 171's legs are stiff as a board.
Agreed. That said, I won't be getting it since I don't like the J...give me an S and maybe we'll talk. I hope they release more Valkyries, so I can actually own one.
So I figured out what was happening on the 171/171EX hips. All this time I was transforming the CF the way Tom showed me when the EX came out. Apparently the landing gear bay doors under the cockpit are supposed to help lock the metal hip bars in. I have to admit though, if that is indeed the correct way (and the CF box art and instructions appear to confirm that it is) I pray that the plastic holds on the bay doors. Either way, for whatever reason, they designed the stand adapter for the battroid mode in the worst way. In order for it to sit on the stand, you need to pull the hinges apart, unlocking them. That leaves the legs all wobbly on the stand. Granted, once it's on the stand the legs should sit however you want it, but the problem is the adapter that clips into the metal hinges do a piss poor job holding on. I must reiterate again on how much Bandai stands piss me off sometimes. They managed to get the fighter mode securely on the stand but the battroid adapter is is a P.O.S! Anyways, pics with the EX!
Please stop posting those.... you are making me want to go out and track down an EX now.... and then a second CF for a mini-squadron!
I built the blue version of it about 15 years ago (ugh. That long ago? really? Lordy.). They're nice enough looking when you're done in Battroid mode - pretty small - heavily reliant on stickers (they come molded in a solid color, either blue or red, for the most part) and look like absolute trash in Valkyrie mode. Also, the transformation involves essentially ripping the Valkyrie in half and replacing the entire torso.
i wanted to repaint it anyways. I want a purple rain (prince) themed fire valk but dont want to spend $200 in case I do a bad job lol
A V2 1/60 VF-1J Miria just sold on ebay for $720. Not to mention a V2 Max sold for $620 last week. Some fans have way too much money. I guess macross is the new gold.
LMFAO But seriously I thought about this ideally once... of getting a group of investors at one time together for it- from some connections I have out west and up north. But the more research you do on HG and their practices, the murkier the waters are. HG's posted revenue is @ $2.7 million a year as of 2011, so you'd need to offer (I'd think) $10 million -in cash (more if not, I think Frank Agrama could use the money considering his recent legal fiasco) for the entire Tatsunoko/ BW licensing agreement (that's even if its transferable into new ownership-it may not be) For a group to get together on it- they'd need a crack entertainment licensing attorney with a plethora of international experience, alot of time, and access to a lot of revenue. I'd imagine that the best one could do is buyout HG and shut it down, freeing up the license to go to Bandai or another entity that could take it over internationally properly.
