Woke up an hour ago having to use pee at 4am, and for some reason have been unable to fall back asleep. Brain's way too active, can't get it to shut off. I fell asleep around midnight, so I'd really hate it it I had to go into Christmas on just 4 hours of sleep, especially considering that yesterday I only got a bit over 6 hours, and three days ago only around 5 hours. Thank God I was able to sleep in till 10 Thursday morning, or I'd be barely functioning at this point

 

Another Christmas at my brothers another year where it looks like most of us got sick from the kids. Honestly feel like a 3rd wheel. They don’t seem to want or need me here and the attitude my brother is giving out makes me feel unwelcome. I think they only invited me here because to not do so would make them feel like they weren’t following proper protocol or something. Thinking it would be better for me to not come next year. I won’t get sick, I won’t have to deal with the annoyance or cost of air travel. I won’t have to pay to board my cats while I’m here. It would be cheaper to not come and just send presents and I’m sure they would feel better having a justification for the distain they are doing a bad job of hiding.

 

Woke up with a splinter in my big toe. Hell if I know how it got there.

 

I have never regretted moving to the opposite side of the country and coming back to my home town only when my presence is absolutely required.

At the very least, if you don't go back next year, perhaps they will miss you and come to realise they should be nicer to you.

 

It may not be as bad as I was thinking at the time turns out my brother was sick too. Not to mention I was so sick I was only getting intermittent sleep of a couple hours here and there. Still pretty sick but took some better medication so I got a little sleep and it no longer hurts when I cough. Think we all caught Strep throat from my nephew. Apparently on lack of sleep I get paranoid

 

Snowmageddon here in Washington. This sucks, I hate snow. I can't even get out of my driveway.

 

Well I was on hold with teledocs for 4 hours before I was finally able to talk to a doctor and get a prescription. 4 hours for what amounted to a call of under 5 minutes.

 

You too? Always hated snow, rain is much better but it sucks as well.

 

Wow. I just learned never to file a complaint about a supervisor through labor relations. They'll just forward it to the supervisor. Oh, and accuse _you_ of harassment to boot.

 

Got a union rep? Always go there first if you have the option. *hugs*

Got through security quickly.
Flight arrived on time.
Boarded quickly.
Now announcement saying plane needs computer maintenance and we have to wait for local people to show up. It’s going to be delayed a while. Already been 20 minutes past takeoff time.
Baby in seat behind me won’t shut up.
Knew my day had been going too well

 

Baby's (and young children in general) on airplanes are exactly why I own noise canceling headphones.

 

Both my daughters were diagnosed with pneumonia last night. Now I'm at the Urgent Care for the second time since Sunday because I've had severe congestion, coughing, and shortness of breath since Friday.

Even their pediatrician said that I probably have it too.

Update: Now they have turned the air conditioning off while they are working on the plane.

 

If they can’t fix it in a few minutes they may ask us to unboard the plane

 

And we have now been told to exit the plane. If they can’t fix it may have to re book a different flight

 

Now delayed till 8pm, no wait update 6pm. I may be in the airport all night

 

Now delayed till 6am, just towed the plane away

 

Gotten a case of end-of-year blues. And it's only a couple of days to go.
