Teaser for the next wave of Animal Crossing sets!

Featuring K.K. Slider, summer Isabelle, Wilbur, Audie, and TANGY!!

Tangy's my wife's all time favorite villager and I know she's going to be so freaking excited when she can see this announcement.

And the buildings are the airport and town hall which I'm pretty happy with, they're important locations to get.

Lego Idea's "IF WE COULD TURN BACK TIME – FAN VOTE OPEN" - winner has their design made into a real Lego set:

If We Could Turn Back Time – Fan Vote Open & More!

    The five chosen finalists are:

E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL - 'FLY ACROSS THE MOON' – DIORAMA BY BRICKESTER

    1000002180.jpg

THE KARATE KID (1984) "WAX ON, WAX OFF" BY DELUSION BRICK

    1000002181.jpg

    GREMLINS BY BULLDOOZER

    1000002182.jpg

THE GOONIES (1985) BY DELUSION BRICK

    1000002183.jpg

BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE! BY BRICK BUILT LABS

    1000002184.jpg

I'm kinda bummed that the Thundercats (Thundertank) didn't get chosen as a finalist (probably a licensing issue) as that was my favorite entry going in. That said, I'm leaning toward the Gremlins because of how cute and compact the design is, although the Beetlejuice house has potentially good tie-in with the upcoming sequel movie. I have a feeling that the E.T. entry will win though because Lego seems to be in love with these type of flat diorama display sets lately.

im sure they’ll all have their fans. The only one I’d actually consider would be the ET one - that is such an iconic shot and I have the most affinity for that movie of the ones presented.

I’ve read on another Lego thread that the Artemis crawler/launchpad/gantry takes up 22 out if the 27 bags in total and there’s stickers to apply in the rocket (which will definitely make alignment a pain in the ass if you do choose to).

There is the Barad-Dur option if you want to complete avoid doing the painstaking repetitive build of the Artemis or just wait for a better build for your collection.

It’s an homage to the original Kenner Toy. The concept art for the show has the Batmobile with a blue tint to it and it was animated that way to distinguish it from the dark backgrounds. So while it’s actually black (like Batman’s cape and cowl) it served a purpose for animation. I’m assuming Kenner thought the car was blue and that’s why they made it that colour and didn’t make a black version for years.

I think this version is awesome and glad they did it this way. As someone who has pretty much every LEGO Batmobile, they are all basically black so this stands out. Once a part list is available one should easily be able to get the parts in black. I also wouldn't be surprised if we get a black version down the road.

Day one purchase for me. I’ll likely get a few!!! So exciting.

I am not sure which I would vote for. Part of me wants the Karate Kid, but wouldn't fit as a display piece with my other Lego sets.

I never had the Kenner toys. I only watched the cartoon and it was black. I have an art book for the series and it mentions being black there too. I wish they didn't base it on something that was, in its own way, merely based on the series rather than referencing the source material directly.

I still plan to get it because it's still my favorite Batmobile (tied with the 1990 one probably). I'm sure it won't be hard to source black bricks to make it how I want it to look. But I don't like that I have to do that extra work, on top of it being a $60 set already.

It could be considered to have a blue tint in the opening and in much of the series as well, matching the blue highlights they animated Batman himself with:

It was only starting in The New Batman Adventures that Batman and his vehicles were more definitively black, with dark grey highlighting instead of blue-ish.

Interesting. Thanks for the additional context. Maybe I am a bit biased by my childhood memory.

that works - I don't think the lego one does, but it could be a fun set to start a MOC

I'm getting the impression this is a lot like the "Superman has blue in his hair" issue. Animation, comics, etc---"how do we show shading and highlights on black?"

How it's colored in 2D vs what it's "intended" to be.

We actually need a G1 Megatron to compliment the Optimus Prime.
