    Look who arrived! :)

    IMG_20230131_195430_138.jpg

It's so... Wow, it's really hard to put into words the feeling of both nostalgia and surrealism of having a new Bionicle set in 2023. It's so odd to think that just a couple weeks ago I didn't even know this existed and yet here he is in the flesh... Err, ABS plastic.

The mask prints are sublime, they have this sorta reflective sheen on the eyes to emulate the light piping of the OGs (with translucent plates on the back of the head that do the job of a brainstalk), and even without technic they managed to carry several details of Mata Tahu over, such as the pistons in the torso, the Amogus pieces on the shoulders to emulate the old technic cup joint, the ball on his chest and the cheese slopes on his sword arm.

This is also the first time Takua has actually gotten a toy of his 'diminished' form. As he never got one back in 01 (you could make one with an extra Jala but he wouldn't get a toy until 03).

@OmegaScourge Don't quote me on this but I found him by feeling for the Babbo (the head is smaller than a normal minifig) and helmet, you will feel a eounded object with a hole on the side. The robot has a spiky helmet and the rex you can feel the bumps for the eyes.

I've found some at Fred Meyers (the two locations I've been to had some).

As @Batman said, the radio (or walkie-talkie) is the best part to find. It's like a plate with two studs on one side and an antenna at the end. Very easily recognisable. I found three spacemen (two for me and one for my GF) that way.

Alternatively, the gastanks. Two thin cilinders.

Risky is a 2x1 tile, but this part also comes with another figure so you have to verify with other parts: two 2x1 tiles is the soccer referee, one 2x1 tile could be the spaceman.

    Holy hell please be true!

I'd buy the shit out of the Deku Tree.

Hell, I'm now even considering two if it really can be swapped between OoT and BOTW.

Pictures are now in circulation too, so these are pretty much confirmed to either releasing within the next few years, or were being seriously considered at some point for production.

    I would get an X-mansion!

on another note - the star-lord helmet looks great. I will purchase it on sale and it will be my first Lego helmet.

Just watched Brick Clicker’s vid on these - didn’t see all the pics at promobricks for some reason

    Simba is AMAZING!

underwhelmed by the X-mansion and the medieval market

    Barad-dur is pretty epic.

the sorting hat is something I didn’t know I’d want but I might bite - the mouth looks a little off but there is time to tweak it.

Gotham City Skyline looks pretty good. Maybe the DC license isn’t dead after all.

This set just oozes so much nostalgia. I know this a one-off tribute set, but I really do hope lego just does the fans a solid and does the rest of the team in this aesthetic. But as it stands, it's a fantastic nod to the theme and an excellent display piece. I guess the only thing I would add to this set is an optional gold Hau, but they were probably only limited to two prints, so I don't mind what we were given.

I forgot that one somehow. Reminds me of BTAS which is a good thing.

I'm not usually one to complain about prices, but $4.99 for the CMF line seems ridiculous. Felt out a display at Walmart and didn't find the Falconer or Orc.

I may just stop collecting them since eBay wants ridiculous $ for specific characters (past and present) it seems.

I've found them at my local Wally (they just got them, and I got a couple space dudes, the robot warrior, and the newspaper lad). I've also found them at Barnes and Noble and Walgreens. Target should be getting them, too, although I've not seen them there yet. Anyway, they seem to be slow-trickling into stores, so don't give up on finding them yet. I was losing hope as well, and then they started popping up here and there. I'll agree with you on the price, though- getting steep. But then again, isn't everything?
