2 of the last 5 major He-Man sets have gotten canceled by Mega, so no, they really don't. The advent calendar got canceled as did the Battle for Eternia II set of figures. The only thing to come out recently was Snake Mountain, before that it was the Monstroid set and the Landshark which came out back in March. If they can't bother releasing the sets for an IP that they actually own then they don't need to take on any more licenses.
Got back into Legos recently, and trying to pick up that 2F2F PW R34, and its already on backorder from Lego for 60 days. Lego stores in my area are already sold out, and Scalpers on StockX wanting $70 shipped, wth smdh.
Is it gonna be hard to find in the future? I would pick it up eventually in the future if it would be not to hard to find.
I don't think it will, you can order it off of lego.com but it could take up to 60 days to get to you. I ordered off of lego and its on backorder for 60 days. Probably a lot of people buying it because it has a large appeal, you have the regular lego fans, import car fans, car fans, and F&F fans, not to mention the fact that it has a Paul Walker mini fig. If the thing ever goes down to $19.99 like all the other lego speed fan sets, I will probably pick up two more before it retires, but based on initial sales I don't see this thing dropping down to $19.99.
It went to the UK. Anyway, the building looks fantastic. However, and I'm not trying to get on a race debate with this, but is it weird that the jazz players are all yellow Lego people? I only ask because they have done darker skin tones in the past. Or were those only specialty ones? It's just weird to me, but whatever. I'm sure my wife is going to love it.
I’ve got half a mind to buy an entire case of CMF 24 so I don’t have to spend countless retail visits figuring out which figures are in which bags. There’s no figures in this series that I really don’t like (some I really want, others are just okay to me) and I’ll get to troop build the figures I do like.
I do find it a bit weird from a Jazz set too, but specifically Lego exclusively uses the singular skintone of Brick Yellow for their non-licensed sets. So all modulars, City, Ninjago and stuff feature the classic yellow, which is supposed to be "raceless" I suppose. Then when you get into Star Wars or something you have skintones generally more reflective of real life (though sometimes there is or at least was untill recently still some whitewashing there, like with Clone Troopers and stuff) The Friends minidolls are also an exception where they feature multiple skintones while not being licensed.
And I'm disappointed they cheaped out on the bombing mechanism 4 flickfire missiles with no additional mechanism for "launching" or anything... meh...
I started collecting SW Lego about 9 years or so ago. One of the sets I picked up in the first year was a Tie Fighter and ever since I’ve been waiting for an Interceptor and a Bomber. Last year I finally caved and bought the most recent Tie Fighter and Bricklinked some pieces to make my own Interceptor. I am so very happy to have a Bomber now ordered to finally complete the trio of Ties. To me, it makes no difference but I’m sure you’re not alone in being disappointed in the “bombing” mechanism. I’m also sure, if you give it enough time, someone will come along that will have figured out how to MOC a better system into the new Bomber.
Nabbed the Imperial TIE Bomber, the 501st Specialist Battle Pack x2, and a few other odds and ends to meet the $190 threshold for the Blacktron GWP. I'm slightly disappointed with the simplified bomb drop mechanism of the TIE Bomber but I can appreciate how good the ship looks.
Just finished the new AT-TE! Really an improvement over the previous version, I like how the sides are more filled in around the middle legs, and the interior has some neat little details. If I had one con it would be that it doesn't have the ladder like the previous one. The back just sorta drops down with no way for the clones to get out.
No thanks. MEGA is even slower at releasing things and unpredictable. Look at how they handle in house licenses like MOTU. They would end up only doing a Batcave and 1000 variants of Batman and Joker. I think the problem is DC themselves. They are all over the place. One minute the DCEU is continuing the next it’s rebooting. Comics are all over the place, they seem more interested in pandering to the “woke” than writing compelling stories. No cartoons other than an R rated Harley Quinn show. Most of the movies have been R rated . Peacemaker is rated R. The Batman did okay but I can see how it inspired some dull sets. Just not a lot of kid friendly media for a company like LEGO to base sets on. I’m hoping once the Flash and Aquaman finally drop we start getting more from DC and then LEGO as an extension of that.
Ok, instructions are up for the Blacktron Cruiser---I'm pretty sure I can replace the sticker nose-wedge with a vintage non-notched Blacktron-printed wedge. And the arrowed tile with a printed Blacktron tile, and the yellow control panel as well. Really the only "missing" markings would be the cargo section. It looks quite Bricklink-able. Most expensive parts are those new "rounded 1x2's with the middle cut out" and the black dual-lightsaber hilts.
Please, enlighten us, how are they "pandering to the woke" as opposed to "writing compelling stories?" Because last I checked people adore the Harley Quinn show.
