surely the brachiosaurus one is a jeep or two (!) and a dino, right? still dreaming of a creator expert explorer and/or jeep from this franchise.
The Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons Challenge has now moved on to the final round with five finalists making it to the fan voting portion of the contest. Fan Vote Open! - 50 YEARS OF DUNGEONS & DRAGONS! Sadly, the entry I submitted didn't make it but I dig some of the finalists, particularly Dragon's Keep: Journey's End by Boltbuilds (which I voted for). I love the green dragon and the designs for the tavern, witch's tower, connecting bridge, and underground cavern. It's pretty compact and what I wanted out of a playset and I can see myself loading it up with my own minifigs and creatures builds.
had the same though then I saw that pic - the subject would definitely lend itself to a similar style set
anyone have the Lego vintage camera set? I have 9000 VIP pts sitting and thinking of redeeming for 1000 while its on sale
SERIES 24 CMF line up has dropped. Loving the vintage newspaper boy, falconer, pottery woman and French aristo. Better than S23 is my first impression anyway ...
@Mercutio - I think that Rivendell will most likely be a section and all the 5 hobbits, Gandalf, Gimil, Arwen (?), Elrond, Galadriel (?), Legolas and more Elvish folk. If Minas Tirth is a given by Lego (wishful thinking I know), most likely it will be a upper section with the Tree when Aragon gets crowned and Arwen’s is in the celebration with her dad. Loved the Tower of Orthanc, but had to pass it as it looked kind of boring.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. But looking at things self-criticically, my entry was definitely missing the 'dungeon' in Dungeons & Dragons (pretty important part; I simply ran out of time and couldn't get my backdrop environment done), and I realize now that my black dragon is too overly complex. Meanwhile, the green dragon in the Dragon's Keep entry is simplified but still looks good and seems much more playable/durable for your average Lego fan and kids in general. I think Lego will have a high chance of choosing that one as the ultimate winner with the whole complete playset value and it does look the best on display in a shelf IMHO. Seeing the five finalists, I was correct in assuming that Lego does not want to make a modular type of set where people can build and customize their own dungeon with floor tiles and wall pieces (requiring the purchase of multiple sets to connect and create a decent sized dungeon). These may be helpful for hardcore tabletop D&D players but they generally don't look very good on display and are way too niche to appeal to your average Lego fan and/or parents with kids. I am somewhat surprised that the five finalists aren't in some way connected to the upcoming D&D: Honor Among Thieves movie as a media tie-in given Lego's love of film franchise licensing. This doesn't necessarily preclude that Lego still won't release sets based on the movie although it's not a guarantee they will either since I think the film has a March 2023 release and any theoretically connected Lego sets would have a 2024 release at the earliest. At any rate, whichever set wins, it'll be a nice build for D&D and fantasy fans. That and I'm excited for the Lord of the Rings: Rivendell DTC set that's being rumored.
OMG there's a brown classic spaceman with a baby spaceman! Yup I need that one definitely no questions. Only other ones I'd be interested in is the Ork and the Black Falcon bird lady.
I'd take literally any other color than basic brown, for a new spaceman. Even dark brown. (PURPLE would be the best, and probably dark green or aqua after that) Being CMF, with a bit higher budget---this would be the best opportunity to do a metallic silver or gold suit.
Farmed the parts from a Lego Supra on sale & the challenger from a couple years ago. That yellow is bright!
I want about half of them...Space Man with little Space Baby, The Org thing in the back row and maybe the ray gun guy and the Koala Zookeeper.
Having just seen the first in hand review courtesy of JB Spielwaren on YouTube (reposted below) they seem mostly pretty decent. Even the weakest few figs on offer here (carrot, generic robot, rocking horse kid?) are certainly no worse than weaker entries in earlier series and come with useful accessories in any case (e.g: garden market sign, rocking horse etc.) Def. seems a return to form for blind bag CMF, imho. Lot of new animal figs thrown in to boot.
I'm definitely in for brown Classic Spaceman with space baby, along with the Black Falconer. I plan to army build the Orc warrior, especially with the Ideas D&D set now being an actual thing.
**sigh** I ordered an Mos Eisley Cantina from Amazon.ca on Black Friday for $360 instead of $500. Received the box yesterday and opened it to find the Sanctum Sanctorum which is $310 full price in Canada. I’m worried when I send it back they will be like this isn’t what you ordered and keep the set and my money. I also do not want this set at all. From now on I’ll stick to getting sets like this from LEGO directly.
How did that happen? I mean was it directly from Amazon or was it a third party seller, because I have no idea who would think that's what you ordered. Seriously hope you can sort this out, especially at those prices.
2023 NINJAGO sets revealed! New Ninjago sets for 2023. And I gotta say, some of those look damn good. Really like Cole's Dragon. May need to go back and pick up the other EVO Dragons. Wouldn't mind having a full set of Dragons for each team member.
I wasn't going to get CMF Series 23 but saw a sale on the 6 packs so I got one to see. Of course 5 out of 6 are the ones I don't really want at all so now I'll have to order another box to see how my luck goes.
