Nice. I honestly would like for them to release some modular dungeon sets. Nothing would please me more than using DnD LEGO minis in an expandable LEGO dungeon. I'd buy the crap out of that.
Is there not a Lego City advent calendar this year? I went to pick one up for my wife's birthday and four different Targets only had Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Friends.
Thanks. The modular dungeon is another possible route for Lego to take (Ninjago already does supply us with a whole bunch of dragon sets, admittedly) but it's one that has limited appeal for me. It skirts too closely to how they've handled the Mario theme with their modular builds and I only bought one of those to date (to raid for unique parts). A modular dungeon is cool and all for folks who still play tabletop D&D (I sadly don't anymore; my last system was years ago with 3.5 Edition) and actively use Lego pieces for their games (instead of the traditional hand painted miniatures and grid mats, etc.), but I think the venn diagram of consumers who fall into this particular category is way too specifically niche to appeal to your average Lego buyer (those being parents and kids), to my reasoning. I personally enjoy brickbuilt creatures and minifigures, so that's what I focused on for my build entry. I did run out of time (no drider or beholder like I originally wanted) and couldn't finish my backdrop environment (something I plan on working on over the upcoming holiday breaks). I even had to cut out four of the minifigures from my original entry (the mindflayers and the damsel-in-distress barmaid/civilian since 14 is way too much, lol, but 10 might be doable though less, like 4-6 figures, is more likely; plus I think with Lego emphasizing more fair play as far as gender roles are concerned, a damsel-in-distress is probably one stereotypical trope Lego wants to avoid). Hard to say which way Lego will go (modular dungeon environments or more classical brickbuilt monsters plus minifigs) but I have a feeling they'll release something that relates to the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves film (starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant). Lego loves movie tie-ins, and this makes the most financial and marketing sense to me. Just some of my rambling, random thoughts on the whole matter.
Just pulled the trigger on the Home Alone McAllister House set, double VIP Points with the Dragon Ride minibuild (cost 2,400 VIP Points), Winter Elves scene and Lego House anniversary GWPs. Not a bad haul at all. I think it's worth all the freebies even with the Home Alone house price being jacked up $50 from last year. I also used the Rakuten app for a further added 10% cashback. I also purchased with points the Vintage 1958 Lego Keychain (950 points) and classic Lego display tin (1,200 points). I'll have to redeem each of those with future separate purchases but those can wait a bit since I have 60 days to do so. I might pick up the Classic Space baseball cap too since I dig the look of it. The Octan one is tempting but I think I'll pass on it.
Snagged some DOTS sets for the home, poodles, classic 90th anniversary set, and picnic in the park sets to get all the GWP (baking set, winter elves, and Lego house set). Also redeemed the dragon adventure ride as well.
It's in VIP Rewards, under VIP Weekend (you might have to expand it). As for me, got the Hogwarts Express.... and then wifey approved The Razor Crest! (Xmas present from everyone).
Ugh. I was buying the Delorean and Camaro and had redeemed the dragon ride with it, but didn’t see the $30 off coupon for the Camaro, so I canceled the order and used that instead. Tried to place another order to get the dragon ride but now it says it’s not valid bc it’s been used. THEN, they canceled the second order because I had 'exceeded the limit' on the Delorean, so now I've lost the Camaro code as well. Ordered the Hogwarts Express with the $100 off coupon to get the other two GWPs and I guess I get to have a fun time on the phone tomorrow trying to straighten the other stuff out.
I "explained" the situation to the customer service chatbot last night. The question choices actually narrowed the problem down to basically "lost VIP redemption code." Before I even woke up this morning, somebody over there had sorted out what happened, and sent me new codes for the dragon ride and Camaro coupon. Already redeemed both. LEGO customer service comes through again. Note to...pretty much every other company we interact with regularly...if you treated your customers like LEGO does, people wouldn't hate you.
Interesting because yeah, none of my stores seem to have it. I can't even find any Lego advent calendars at my Walmarts. I also couldn't find a listing on Target's ipad scanner.
I had seen them at Target a few weeks ago too. If I get time in between work this weekend I'll pop back and check if they have any in stock still.
Interesting, it's sold out online and none of the stores near me have it either. Lego City Advent Calendar 60352 Building Kit : Target Edit: Walmart has it for $28 LEGO City 2022 Advent Calendar 60352 Building Toy Set (287 Pieces) - Walmart.com
Found and bought one of those $75 Galaxy Explorers at Walmart. Gonna just tuck it away until Santa gets here on the big day.
