Yo I built this lol
More pictures lol
Modified this set a bit:
This looks like some nightmarish model of the Micro Managers from the first Lego Movie. Good stuff!
I was inspired by the shrubb from my singing monsters
My local Walmart has clearance-priced some of last year's sets. One of them is the Speed Champions Ferrari Tributo F8. to $6. that's not a typo.
I picked up one more for myself (now total of 3; I have directions to rebuild this set as an F40) but ever since I got home I've been thinking I should go back and get a few more to donate at Christmas. $6 is pretty cheap for 245 pcs & orig $20, and there were a lot of them.
UCS LAAT/i leak - full reveal tomorrow.
Looks alright but the bubble turrets aren't spherical enough, and while I understand the need for a support column in the troop bay, it's still inaccurate.
that comparison of the top view in the bottom right is pretty impressive. After waiting for this for so long I find myself looking for reasons not to but it. Maybe the full reveal will sell me again on it, but I’m not over or underwhelmed by it - I’m just whelmed.
Fun fact: whelmed and overwhelmed mean effectively the same thing. There is no "neutral" variation of the word.
To be "whelmed" is to be submerged by a wave. To be "overwhelmed", literally, is to have said wave crest over your head - and then submerge you. "Underwhelmed" is when the wave crests below your level and thus fails to put you completely underwater.
This shall be my daily "be a complete dork" moment.
No doubt people will be lining up on the first day whenever that is.
Star Wars fans and their money are soon parted.
UCS Republic Gunship officially revealed!!
They also already have a review:
Review: 75309 Republic Gunship
I like it, but I’m just not sure I’m eager to drop the change on it. The comparison picture with the old one really drives home how good that previous set was (would love to own it). With an expensive (non-Lego) Voltron looming and the rumored (Lego) AT-AT, this may just miss my personal cut.
It took me a while to read through to find out if the doors close. The consensus is yes...ish. Probably will skip then.
It's a shame that even with the increase in price and parts count, the doors don't even align with the rear sloped section.
Yeah it's disappointing. Though it does still look cool regardless, just not cool enough for me to throw any money at it.
Not really interested in the gunship, but couple other things in here perked me up.
New expensive Voltron? Different from the Soul of Chogokin one?
Is a UCS AT-AT still a possibility for this year? Think they'll still release another big SW set like that so soon?
