I bought one on Amazon, then forgot I ordered it, saw it up for retail and ordered it again. I was surprised yesterday when the second one came (this is how I ended up with two of the same Figmas as well). However, the good news is one was ordered at retail while the other at $40 more so guess which one I'm returning, haha!

Not sure that will happen. But, earlier while we were admiring the Spring Lantern Festival again, I mentioned seeing the Bookshop at Target the other night and she was like "why didn't you buy it?" (tone: genuine like, dude we want that one don't we?) instead of "I'm surprised you didn't buy it" (tone: sarcasm meaning *ahem* good thing you DIDN'T buy it). Progress!

Thanks! For the Interceptor MOC, I basically followed Hachiroku24's instructions on how to do it:

His mods will require extra parts that are not included with the stock set, unfortunately. There are video instructions out there that do offer an Interceptor alternate build using only the included pieces, but the end result won't look as accurate to the source model.

For my Interceptor, I went a few steps further and made the wings taller (increased the negative space between the "claws") and extended the pylons to make them longer.

I also added even more pieces to improve the shaping and angle of the solar panels (with ratchets, they tend to be either one click too shallow or one click too deep; I added the light bluish gray interior wing bracing using clip/handle pieces to achieve a better angle and to lock the wings in place so they no longer move).

It ended up being a bigger project than I thought with lots of trial and error, but I had fun doing it. The X-Wing mods were much easier, by comparison.

The Sai daggers for the cannon tips on the x wing is such a clever technique that I've never seen done before

I wish I could take credit but it's actually an idea I got from a fellow forum poster here in the LEGO thread a few dozen pages back. Unfortunately I can't recall his name (apologies!).

I first utilized the sai pieces when modding the 2018 version of the X-Wing sometime before the holidays last year. I just reused them again for the 2021 X-Wing since they work so well, in my opinion.

Edit: A few more photos since I made some additional tweaks to the 2021 X-Wing. New mods include improved engine intake detailing to get the T-shape more correct.

Also made the cannons slightly longer with additional white candle utensil pieces (didn't realize these were so expensive on the aftermarket). Also a comparison photo with my upgraded 2018 X-Wing (left) and the modded 2021 version (right).

So last night my wife just up and decided to start building the Story of Nian by herself, while I was going around doing chores and stuff. Later as she continued working on it, I remarked to her about how she seemed to be having fun and she smiled and said "yeah, it's cathartic!" I laughed and told her she was starting to understand why I enjoy it so much. She ended up finishing the building part of the set, I asked if I could do the lion and she sort of reluctantly said "fine, but that's the best part!" LOL So I got to do that and she went to sleep.

This set is nice but the building is really just a fancy wall, so a bit less impressive than the Spring Lantern Festival. The lion though is very cool, much of the build was similar to Elves dragons.

Our little New Year village is looking pretty nice now with the new additions, I'll try to post some pics later.

Yeah, I think my Medieval Blacksmith was also missing the chocolate box and flower GWP. Not sure what's up with that.

I'd send a message to customer service. If they're not able to send out the GWP, they can at least give you some bonus VIP Points. They did that with me when they messed up another GWP in a past order of mine.

GWPs sometimes ship separately. I'd double-check your invoice to see if it was supposed to be included on your shipment.

Just finished LED wiring up my Fire Brigade modular. The fire engine has a battery case for 2 x 2032s to power its lights, but I don't care if the car is "tethered" to the building so I've ordered a 12" wire to connect the engine to the building's HUB box, which will allow it to draw power from of the USB outlet rather than worrying about batteries (and a manual on switch).

I have to keep reminding myself that I'm trying to pace these light sets out to one per month. Every time I see those buildings light up (have them on a timer), I immediately want to just finish them all off.
...well, except for the Town Hall and Bank sets because Briksmax oddly doesn't have sets for those yet. If I get down to the end of the year, and they've still not put them out, I'll have to go with Lightailing instead. Although I'd prefer to keep to Briksmax if possible since I think I can daisy-chain the HUBs and use less USB outlets overall.
