A knock off Falcon seems appropriate. Lego Han and Leah walk up to it, "You came here in that thing. You're braver than I thought."
Almost forgot the new Christmas set went live the other day. Picked it up plus the wreath and a few other smaller kits.
Thats why I called it a building block set and not a bootleg Lego set. Regardless, its not mine, but I get the fun... and frustration... from building a set.
I knew that the Colosseum was a possible rumour, however that is insane! That's close to $800 CDN for 9000 pcs. Almost 3x the size of the Taj, and the Sydney Opera house and the Old Trafford Football (Soccer) Stadium each individually.
Haha, I was about to say for that price it better come with a Temple of Juno from Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
Felt like some Star Wars, so I picked up the Raider AT-ST set. Neat, if a bit flawed IMO. Being a variant doesn't bother me - I don't own any other AT-ST models anyway, and even though I've yet to watch the show it does get me the titular Mandalorian and Cara. Plus, honestly, that splash of brown and red is a visual plus; one reason I've very picky about what SW sets I pick up over the last few is that they're just so predominantly...grey. I've seen reviews of this and previous scout walker models, so I knew going into it the articulation is lacking, that's not a problem, and I'm astounded the thing balances as well as it does, the engineering for that is solid and the way the head is built is really neat to get all the angles in. There are a couple of parts of the build that actually had me a little concerned, which is something I don't think I've ever felt for a by-the-book Lego build. I like that they use the whips as cable greebling, but as stretched and twisted as they are I do wonder how long they'll last (on the other hand, they won't really be stressed any further since the legs don't really move). The part that really made me wonder if I got a wrong or bad part for the first time in 30+ years of Lego is the left cheek cannon: ease of popping off aside, the instructions want you to slot a flickfire pin into the hollows of that double-technic-pin H-bracket; and that is the closest I think I have ever come as an adult to actually breaking a Lego piece. The bar part of the flickfire just does not fit in the hollow of the technic pins, it bends and stresses the plastic something fierce. None of the reviews I looked at - and admittedly, it was just a couple - mentioned this. There's a simple workaround half provided in the set already, mind - cap the technic pins with hollow studs (one in the set by default, and fishing one out of spares was easy), and then stick the flickfire pins into those. I can't help but wonder though, was that just a really weird/bad design decision? Because you cram bars and flickfire pins through other technic connectors elsewhere in the set, and I didn't like how that felt - but it didn't feel like it was breaking anything either. So all in all, I am glad I picked it up; it looks good, I'll probably never disassemble the thing, and I'm not too worried about the 'fixed' cannons because it's just standing on a shelf. Recommended with only slight hesitation, especially if you don't already have an AT-ST.
