I'd be interested in the Monkey King mech and the Iron Son truck but only because I'd want the buildings. I'd love to add a little bit of Chinatown to my LEGO City.
I’m guessing this is a thing that’s big in China? Very cool to see new stuff like this, can’t say I’m confident it will do well in the US, but very cool looking.
They might have roped me in for the 2 mechs, def The Mokey King mech and the Steamboat, this is an interesting thing let's hope they dont screw it up with insanity like some of Ninjago
The lore of the monkey king is, but this comes across like tone-deaf pandering. Not to the level of Age of Extinction, mind you, but still pretty embarrassing.
nope its not a China only release. I think they were also testing the waters a bit for reaction when they released the Monkey King minifigure in series 18. that got a lot of positive reaction and discussion as to the lore of the monkey king, people learning about him, including in this thread
they did away with regional exclusives after the first CNY sets. There are still store/venue/event ones but not sets only released to one region
I'm... On the fence about them. The container ship gives me serious kiddie vibes. Seems like something out of Rescue Bots or something similar. Very big, very colorful with goofy proportions. Not a big fan. The rest, though... Don't look too bad, honestly. Cloud Jet looks pretty slick, Food Truck is neat, and those mechs are beautiful! I'm very tempted to get the Monkey King Mech at least. Right now, I think the thing I dislike the most is the general direction of the theme. Like I said, it feels very... Kiddie. Curious to see how it turns out.
it feels like a big mashup of different things...I get Nexo Knight from some, hidden side or almost TLM from others, and Ninjago of course.
I have absolutely no clue about what this property is, but most of the sets look pretty BA. Damn you Lego, you sure know where attack my weaknesses.
This is my Republic Gunship MOC from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The build features opening cockpits, side and rear doors, and deployable speeder. More images on my Flickr (link in sig).
Oh SHIT!!!! I was wondering why there hasn't been much and hoping to see more Monkey King related merchandise...Considering he is one of the oldest, most popular and most powerful superheroes ever. Yeah, they are changing it up a bit but there is some gold in this line. I'm fucked because I'm supposed to be cutting back almost completely on collecting.
I wish I didn't have to sell off all my old Lego Star Wars sets... I used to have a ton of Clone Wars and 05-08 sets.
