I saw that the other day. So much nostalgia there! Very amazing builds. I do wish the Cobra vehicles featured more black and dark blue like in the cartoon show and ARAH toys (particularly the HISS tanks) but I suppose the availability of certain LEGO parts in specific colors might have been the deciding factor.
Lego Bastion skin makes lego sounds with every animation : Overwatch There's actually an insane amount of detail in that Lego Bastion skin in-game. Not just the character model, but the sounds of clacking bricks are layered into his sound effects, and just like in The Lego Movie, even the muzzle flares are made of Lego: spinning flame jets, in this case.
Speaking of Bastion, the small Overwatch Bastion set that is a Blizzard exclusive is on sale at their Web site for half off. Toys & Collectibles | Blizzard Gear Store | Blizzard Gear Store
FYI: Buying just 1 will result in your box arriving crushed in an envelope. (learnt that the hard way)
I finally found the new Minifigures. There were only 9 left so I grabbed them all. Friggin HEll! Out of 9, I got three duplicates and most importantly NO MONKEY KING! Arghhh! Now I'm going to need to go on a rampage to get my damn Monkey King, lol!
One of the earliest and baddest ass "superheroes" ever. At least, that's why I want it. I made some posts fairly recently hoping for some quality 6" style action figures of the Monkey King and I know there are some options available but not totally great. This Minifigure will do for now. And yeah, I need a bunch of them just to have but also because he has cloning powers too.
It'd be kinda like getting a minfig of Hercules, King Arthur, or Robin Hood. Maybe moreso in some circles due to his pop-cultural proliferation. He's a central mythological figure in Chinese folklore, of the story Journey to the West. Even if you're not familiar with that lore in particular, you may be aware of some of the stories he's inspired: Journey to the West was the primary inspiration/starting point for the manga/animes Dragon Ball and Saiyuki Reload. Goku, aka, Son Goku in Japan is the Japanese transliteration of the monkey king's name, Sun Wukong (Goku's Flying Nimbus and Power Pole items, and Oozaru transformation in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z are direct references to Sun Wukong's kit). And of course, he's the inspiration for the same-named character in Rooster Teeth's RWBY series. Additionally, due to the huge market base of China and its gamers, many videogames in recent years have either included the character, or made reference to him. AFAIK, characters named either Sun Wukong or The Monkey King are playable in MOBA games Smite and DOTA. Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm gives a Monkey King alternate skin to the character Samuro, and Diablo III has an equipment set themed after him. TL;DR - he's a massively famous mythological and pop-culture character, with far more significance than most of the random characters Lego throws into these CMF series outside of the licensed ones.
