LOL, I heard that.
They don't have to dump Star Wars. There's plenty of designs from previous eras that can be done/revisited. They're just picking all the worst shit to make.
Agreed. I don’t even watch the show but those Resistance show designs are all must haves for me
I strangely like the Obi Wan set. It’s been awhile since we’ve gotten a hooded Obi Wan. I’ll get it.
Kylo’s Shuttle looks nice. May have to go back and get the original Ren off of Bricklink with the Hood since I hate the derpy large helmet head. Will likely get this set.
I think the new Falcon looks terrible. Seems like a step back. I think TFA one
had more detail. I was really hoping they would come up with a new Falcon build. This is the fourth go around with this base and it looks only marginally better than the original. Oh well I’ll save a couple hundred bucks.
Yeah. Star wars Lego still sells well. Maybe just look into more of the classics or maybe better designs.
Ah, I'm not that big a fan of the AT-ST; glad I picked up the Rogue One ver. a while back.
I'd also maybe not give the new sets *too* much grief; yeah, right now, they're not much. But if Avengers Endgame was any indication, do you think they're hiding stuff because of spoilers?
Dat Millennium Falcon! They finally found a way to fix the gappiness of the disk-shaped hull in their past MF sets. Instead of using 12 pizza wedge slices, it's separated into 4 quarter sections which is a much more elegant and simplified solution.
The mandibles and rear hyperdrive engine thrusters also look cleaner and better shaped. It's cool that it has the round satellite dish too! Definitely bought. The addition of Old Lando is expected though I wonder where Rose's character is due to an absence of her minifig here.
The A-Wing and Y-Wing look decent enough. Might pick those up depending on sales. Kylo Ren's command shuttle looks awesome and it's the one that we should've gotten and not the weird gray one with the fixed wings.
Yoda looks a lot better when compared to the previous UCS version which was more blocky looking with angled bricks vs. smooth curved pieces. Figures of that size aren't really my thing though so I probably will pass on him.
The Mandalorian AT-ST looks pretty sweet in those darker and red colors on top of the neat new minifigs. The Death Star turbolaser cannon with Obi-Wan shutting down the tractor beam generator is unexpected but a nice looking set. Both are buys for me.
The Pasaana Speeder Chase, I'm not sure what to make of it. Pasaana looks like Jakku looks like Tatooine. The FO tracked vehicle looks vaguely like the Imperial train transport from the Solo movie though with the existence of repulsor lift technology, what's the point of having track treads to begin with?
It's hard to say how much the AT-ST Raider will be. Just wondering if it will be the right price for something.
These are all repaints, the AT-ST is okay, the A-wing and Y-wing are being redone to quickly, and do we need another Falcon, it is the flagship ship of the franchise, but we have enough of them for now. Do a repaint of Jengo Fett's Slave I, a classic AT-AT (UCS release preferred), Tie Bomber, Tie Interceptor, stuff like that The Yoda is horrible, but will wait for official photos to make a final judgement.
One of teh coolest things to come from teh lego movie line , too bad that his newer incarnations are not that great
I agree there was 2 or 3 sets from the lego movie 2 (gosh that name sounds horrible) they are anything with velociraptors and Benny's space squad
picked up a Metalbeard for my son the other day, he is brilliant, easily one of my fav builds ever
Slytherin's New Seeker by Hobbestimus, on Flickr
Thats a very nice Lego Starscream custom
If you could bring back 6 lego themes what would they be?
For me it's
Pirates of the Caribbean
And here are 3 that i don't know if they count as lego themes
I think the new Falcon looks better overall, it's more cohesive and the mandibles are much, much better - they look like they blend into the ship. The hyperdrive is much improved. There isn't as much surface detail as the TFA Falcon, but what is there is pretty accurate - they even included the blast damage on the port side as a sticker. It's difficult to find a happy medium between cramming all the details in and making the details look to scale.
"You squishy fleshlings and your sports. Pah!"
If Slytherin gets Starscream as a quidditch ringer, it's only fair that Gryffindor gets Jetfire.
