I dug out my original GB copy on Friday. I haven't actually played it all that much, and am still trying to figure out how to move boulders.

I thought it was well worth it. There's one particular item you get at the end that is a bit ridiculous but I love it and still use it every time I play.

I will say that I had hoped the DLC would have at least one new monster, and some different gameplay from what the main game offered. But it's really more of the same.

I think the DLC is not as cool if you play it well after finishing the rest. Just felt a bit short to me, and the cool item you get in the end is a bit worthless if you no longer have to travel that much after completing the game.

As extra content while you’re still actively trying to complete the game? Then it probably flows a bit better.

And nope, no day one update for Link’s Awakening for me either. Just finished the game during my flight, lol.

no 30 year old game spoilers :lol

I am at the egg

kinda assumed what was going on at the beginning from the choice of chars in the game tho.

surprised I never played this game on the gb it would have probably been a childhood favorite

I guess it's sort of a giveaway now
(much like the title), but when the original version came out, we didn't know who a lot of the "guest" characters were. Ocarina of Time wouldn't come out for awhile, so we didn't know who Maron and Taron were. Since Mamu "Wart" didn't get his name localized, most of us didn't realize he was the same character. Mr. Write, I took for a parody character. The Kirby and Mario stuff just felt like silly cameos Nintendo had done before--the original Legend of Zelda even had a Piranha Plant in it ;)

The game was definitely a childhood favorite of mine. So much so that this will be the fourth time I've purchased it in some form :p

Thanks guys! I pretty much finished everything in the game except the kind of needless tedious stuff, like powering up the BOTW armor, and getting all the seeds.

I very much enjoyed the story and the game, and still play it just to dick around in the world, so Im gonna buy the DLC content :)

    Appreciate the feed back!

finished up awakening tonight. I think this game is probably my 2nd favorite zelda behind lttp.

need to still 100% it but the ride was a lot of fun and very enjoyable & memorable for my first time playing. left me with the same feels lttp did when I played that as a young kid.

Im not sure what could have been better here besides the locked 60fps. Game would have been pretty much perfect to me if they had done that or if they patch that eventually.

Just bite the bullet and get both. The first one has a lot of great stuff - the Master mode makes the game actually challenging, and the Hero's path view is great for pinpointing areas you have overlooked.

DLC 1 is worth it for the heroes path and travel medallion alone. Two of my most used tools.

I ended up passing on the DLC and bought Links Awakening instead. Now I got a whole new game to play! So far it's awesome, completed the first dungeon, very fun game so far! I always wanted to play Links Awakening but never got the chance to, and when I heard they were remaking it for the switch, I was like

So playing through a classic style zelda game for the first time, but with fancy graphics is a great experience.

It's in the second dungeon. The one to the right of the swamp. You have to have the Chain Chomp with you to get through there, I think.

I'm still loving Link's Awakening. I'm enjoying it much more than I thought I would.

My only complaint is the control layout. I don't know why they chose to have B attack instead of A. I'm still hitting the wrong button.
