Thei thread is for discussing everything The Legend of Zelda. EVERYTHING. Theories, what games you did/didn't like, your favorite Zelda games, what you want to see in the next game, what you wish the other games had, etc.

Sorry if there's already a thread for this. :(

I bought the Jakks Pacific World of Nintendo 4" Link today.

    It's pretty neat.

One of my favourite game series of all time. Loved every game I've played in it except for Skyward Sword, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. So basically any game with a normal control scheme I've liked lol.

My favourite in the series would have to be A Link to the Past. The graphics, game play and music were amazing when it came out and it's one of those games that I can pick up every couple of years and play through and still enjoy every bit of it.

Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess aren't too far behind in my list. Overall it has been a very consistent series quality wise and hopefully that trend continues with the next main Zelda title.

There is so many good games. Personally I like the 2d ones more then the 3d due to the pacing. Most recent 3d games take forever in the intro tutorial stuff. You could probably speed run a 2d zelda before you make it to the first dungeon in twilight princess or skyward sword. The oracle of seasons is my favorite with link between worlds in 2nd and ocarina in 3rd. Skyward sword was a disappointment because of the world and repeated boss battles. Spirit tracks is the worst in the series.

I have two Zelda games: Four Swords Anniversary and The Wind Waker HD. Each has their pros and cons. Based off of those games, I enjoy 3D more. In my opinion, the combat is better and the 3D makes the game layout more emersive. However, I do agree that the 3D Zeldas are longer and I do find it tedious sometimes. The 2D games are better if you want a quicker game.

In your opinion, is traveling around just as annoying as it is in Wind Waker in other 3D Zeldas? I know you have the aid of cyclones and the Swift Sail (In the HD version) and all, but you still got to travel by boat a lot which is... sometimes long.

LoZ is one of my favorite games ever, if not my favorite. I actually just played through the original last month a couple times. I remember when I was a kid, it seemed a lot harder, now I can blow through in about an hour or two. Maybe it's just because I already know where everything is. The other thing I think that makes it my fave Zelda is that it's open world from the start. You can go anywhere, do anything, and progress the game in any order you like. Last time I went through, I had the blue ring, the candle, arrow, bombs and water and like, 6 hearts before even entering the first dungeon. Sure made things a lot easier.

Other favorites, Zelda II, Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and I have yet to play Link Between Worlds but it's on my list.

I did try out LTTP online once, for about ten minutes. I love it! Looks much better than Four Swords. I don't know if it's on the eShop, but I would definitely get it sometime if it is. Ocarina of Time 3D is one I definitely want to get. I played a 3DS demo, I think at a Target somewheres, and it was Ocarina of Time 3D. I was blown away when I played it, and my enjoyment with the system there was one of my motivations in buying the 3DS. And there was two 3DS packs I was deciding between: the one with 3D Land, and the one with Ocarina of Time. I chose the 3D Land one. And now I regret it! Not that I didn't enjoy 3D Land (I LOVE Mario), but I think I would enjoy OOT more. Oh, well, I'll probably get OOT anyways, but that Zelda-style 3DS was amazing.

Zelda games are easier when you go through them again. I'll admit, going through Wind Waker Hd for the first time, I did go online a couple times for direction. But going through it again, even playing through Hero Mode, was a LOT easier. And, like you, I love open world games. Wind Waker did feel limited at times, such as when you want to explore the world and the King of Red Lions restricts you! NRRGH! Well, that is allowed later in the game, but still...

What do you guys think about the art style of the new Zelda game? I actually really like it. It's got a little bit of complexity like the most recent 3D Zeldas, but it also has a cartoon-ish charm much like Wind Waker.

I heard about the World of Nintendo figures. The Link one looks quite nice.

I think it looks good. Makes me think of how Skyward Sword would have looked if it wasn't limited by the Wii. That being said I would have preferred if they had gone with the aesthetic that was shown in the first Zelda U tech demo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_fyOkrteqM

Someday I hope we get a Zelda game with voice acting.

They have dialogue. it drives me nuts how we still don't have it.

and please don't bring up CDI Zelda.

I like both. The more realistic one was nice. Still, I think it's good that they don't always keep the art style real and they try something new. It keeps things fresh.

Ok, here's one for you guys: Favorite Zelda music?

Mine... it's really tough to narrow it down, but I'm kind of torn between the original (love those 8-bit midis) and the various songs from Ocarina of Time.

If Wind Waker had voice acting, I think the King of Hyrule/King of Red Lions would sound like Gandalf. :lol

If there was a game with voice acting, do you think Link should speak? What do you think certain characters would sound like?

I really like the music used in the opening of the Wind Waker when it explains Hyrule's fate. I also like that music, I can't name it, it goes like...

This is tough. I'll go with the Hyrule Castle music from LttP. That music is so epic.
