Taking a break after getting the Master Sword. Battery needs a charge and my eyes need a break. I'm surprised how natural using the painting ability is. I thought it would be tough to get used to but it just feels like something Link has always been able to do.

Going for my third charm and my 3DS needs a recharge, just wishing the dungeons were a little longer.

exactly. I thought it was going to be a ridiculous 3d gimmick.
it feels like I've been using it for 20 years already.

Now that I can rent/buy all the items ahead of time I'm just exploring now that I've got the master sword. I want to own more items and have more heart containers before going to the 7 dungeons.

I think the best way to describe this game is familiar, but fresh. The new abilities/items (wall merging, Sand Rod, Tornado Rod) are all very intuitive and smoothly integrated in with all of the well known items, enemies, and areas. This game is just pure fun and I love it.

Rescued 4 Sages so far. Spending lots of time looking for Maiamais and fulfilling other side quests to get more hearts and rack up enough rupies to buy all the items. So far I own everything except the ice and fire rods, so not too much more money to finish my inventory.

This is, in my humble yet correct opinion the BEST Zelda game in a LONG time. Thats not to say that the others werent good, they were, but this....this is just magic. I am so glad I got the XL anniversary edition. A solid 5 stars.

I really want to get a DS to play Zelda. But the price is so much... can I get any DS to play this? I don't need 3D, but the Nintendo 2DS looks shitty. If the 3DS would be more like 100 it would be cooler. I mean it's an handheld after all.

You dont NEED the 3ds, but if you want to save money the 2ds is the way to go. I saw some early black friday ads for it costing 99 bucks

No sorry. Got to be one of the 3DS, 3DSXL, or the 2DS.

The money I spent on my 3DS is the best thing I've used money on in years.

I'm pitting it against my favorite, LTTP, and imo it's going toe to toe, possibly even better in some areas due to new features.

Of course it all comes down to how it plays out, the ending, and how the full package is perceived, but right now it's shaping up to be an equal, if not a better game.

It's pretty amazing what they've managed to accomplish. I feel like I'm 12 years old again.

What are the differences between 3DS and 3DSXL? Only size?

Size, Screen size, battery life. If you are going to get one, try and get the 3DSXL Zelda Bundle. You end up paying 12-13 bucks for the Zelda game, plus the game is THAT good. (Althou I detest digtal download games unless they are free.)
Yeah its lot of money, but you wont regret it :)

again, you could always sell the code if you wish to have the physical cart instead.

also xl has the 4gb sd card with it. think the regular 3ds is 2gb if I remember right.
not that it makes a difference when sd memory is so cheap.

The only thing that puts me off the zelda XL is the gold innards. If it was gold on the inside and black on the outside have wanted the shit out of it.
I'm quite happy with my red Pokemon DS anyways :)
