I've always thought that movie was overrated. Once Optimus dies, the movie dies.

    Ju-On: The Curse 2
Wow! A third of the entire movie was wasted on footage from the previous movie! That should be a record on reusing footage from a previous movie instead of doing a simple recap! I guess they blew the entire budget on the scene with
multiple ghosts appearing on the school yard
It's more obvious when the last five minutes was a shot of the house and nothing else like it's
    Kaworu's death
scene from episode 24 of Evangelion!

I still can't grasp the plot. The curse seems like it came from Kobayashi's stalker but I'm still trying to make things out of it like how it all started and why the house is cursed in the first place.

Next movie is the one adapted to The Grudge. That means it's the good one, right?

    6.5/10

No, just no. Optimus dying is one of the best parts of the movie. Hot Rod was far more interesting a character and Galvatron was freaking bad ass. Even as a kid I was glad Optimus was gone. He was cool, but Megatron was better. Megatron becoming Galvatron and blowing up Starscream just upped his badass meter 200%.

And yes, the movie is not that good when you take out the nostalgia meter, at least from a writing perspective, but it still has more plot and character development than every Bayformer movie combined.

    Fright Night (1985) 8/10
There's some kinda sleazy stuff in here that honestly made me a little uncomfortable, despite knowing it was a product of the time. However, when this film is good, it's really good. It's a fuckton of fun and contains some amazing character stuff. And of course, the effects are pretty goddam spectacular. A must-see if you like vampires on any level.

Night of the Creeps (1986) 10/10
Having now seen all of Fred Dekker's feature films, I can honestly say it was a travesty that Robocop 3 ruined his career like it did. No filmmaker should be sullied by a single misfire, and the fact that this and The Monster Squad are so good is just further proof that Dekker had legitimate talent and did not deserve to fall into obscurity like he did. Night of the Creeps is everything that you could possibly want in a love letter to 50's b-movies. It's fun, it's humorous, it's got great characters that fit into specific archetypes while also poking fun at said archetypes. Above all, though, it captures the vibe of those movies. Granted, with better effects and more blood and nudity, but the general spirit is all there and works beautifully. If you like retro sci-fi, if you like zombies, if you like college comedies, if you like detective movies with serial killer bad guys, or any combination of the above, watch this goddam movie. You will not regret it.

i honestly thought killing the cast off was the ballsyist thing that transformers or any movie based on a toyline has ever done. carebears introduces a bunch of new characters in their movie. but they do not kill off the main cast. my little pony does too. but they also do not kill off the main cast.

transformers the movie kills off the entire cast, sets it in the future, and replaces it with an entirely new cast.

I too, find Rodimus a more interesting character then Optimus. i even find him more interesting because optimus was such the perfect leader, and rodimus isn't anything close to being Optimus.

the biggest mistake i think they did, was not leave optimus dead.

Nope. That movie ends with Optimus. In fact, I stop watching, after the boy blunder gets taken hostage in that duel between Op and Megatron. after that, I just imagine that Optimus kneecaps Hot Rod before shooting Megs in the face. Then, Wheeljack and Ratchet patch up the Autobots that had been on that shuttle. (turns out, they all just had bad shoulder wounds) The movie ends with the '84 Bots kicking Unicron's ass.

Creature from the Black Lagoon 3D - This is absolutely one of my favorite Universal monster movies of all time and getting to see it in 3D was down right phenomenal. The opening bit when they first find the fossilized Gill Man arm was nothing short of stellar and the 3D as a whole puts most of the movies done today to shame. There were some moments where the screen did seem to get blurry during fast motions, but aside from that, it was wonderful. The movie is amazing. The Gill Man is amazing. And getting to meet the actress from it was awesome. Overall, I give this movie a nice big 9/10 stars.

    Dracula Untold

It boils down to this: if you're on the fence, don't see it. If you saw the trailer and got excited, I think you'll like it enough. It's a rental at best.

    Freddy vs Jason 4/10

One of my annual October treats. I give this movie that score because while I love myself some slashers, no matter how you cut it, this is just a bad movie. The setup to bring the two villains together is good but the acting by the teens and most of the first half are particularly cringeworthy. However once the cornfield party scene starts, the movie becomes pretty enjoyable or at least watchable due to it focusing on the feud between Metal Fingers and the Goalie. Their final battle is so freakin awesome. I could watch Freddy and Jason slashing each other to "death" all day long. For that reason I'll always appreciate this movie for delivering on the fight between these two. Unfortunately the first half of this movie sucks so hard that there's no way I can call this a good movie although I still would've loved to have seen a sequel instead of those craptastic reboots.

I'm only 19 so obviously I didn't watch TF86 as a child so I don't have the nostalgia for it that others do. I just think that everything up till Optimus dying is really well done. The pacing, the autobot death scenes, the music, the action and the final battle between Prime and Megatron are great. But once Galvatron kills Starscream, the movie just looses me. After that happens, all my favorites are dead and I'm left with a movie that just isn't very well written, paced or interesting. TF86 did a lot of great things but I just don't think it's that great a movie, particularly the second half.

I probably need to see the movie again but from what I can remember I give it a 4/10.

    Edge of Tomorrow - 8/10

Far better movie than I would have thought from the trailers. I was sure it was just some new generic action film, instead it was a lot more light hearted than you'd think and the fun they have with the whole time-reversing gimmick being toyed with (DON'T SHOOT ME DON'T SHOOT ME I-oh, fine, shoot me) is just plain fun.

it is less a time travel movie, and more like, the best video game movie, ever. :lol

because that is what it really felt like. it felt like someone playing a video game, and he keeps having to start at the beginning, and remember what he did right, and what he did wrong. it was a lot of trial and error.

    much like a video game.

Godzilla - 10/10 - 6th viewing and still going strong. Which is just as well because the next one won't be out until at least 2018.

    Ju-On: The Grudge

A better movie than the first two and understandable why it was chosen to be adapted instead of them. For continuity I don't think it's even necessary to watch the first two to understand the plot of this movie since they gave proper exposition and explained what the heck is going on.

I thought it was the stupidest thing ever. They had fought unharmed for how many episodes before that turd? And now they ALL die super easily for the sake of introducing new characters? Incredibly lazy and totally something Bay would have done.
