We are only in April. I hope Iron Man 2 is better, just cause Marvel movies are usually great. Toy Story 3 is my movie of the year, though.

    Oh, and Kick-Ass: 8/10

Sherlock Holmes (2009) 9/10 Premiere export of Checkov's Gun. Great movie, don't know why people are rating it over movies like 2012 and Avatar.

    Sh*tting myself > Avatar.

    Date Night - 8.7/10

Steve Carell and Tina Fey do their thang and definitely bring the funny. The plot is a tad ridiculous at times, but I was laughing consistently throughout.

[full disclosure: I'm a long-time watcher of both "The Office" and "30 Rock" so "Michael Scott marries Liz Lemon" may have scored a few bonus points with me here]

Saw Kick-Ass. I'd give it 9/10. The action is top notch and the acting's good all around. Chloe is the real star of the movie and Aaron is just a supporting actor imo.

    Kick-Ass 6/10

Cage's Adam West as Big Daddy was definitely the best part of the film. The ending was a bit too much though I can see why the changes were made for a larger film audience. Not a bad time at all, but probably a better rental than film ticket purchase.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans 8/10 (second viewing)

Keeping with the Cage theme, this is Cage as Klaus Kinski in Werner Herzog's take on the morally challenged police detective. A great film with a completely over-the-top performance by the lead. About Cage's performance, Roger Ebert said it best:

"Nicolas Cage is as good as anyone since Klaus Kinski at portraying a man whose head is exploding. It's a hypnotic performance."

Kick-Ass- 6/10. I liked it well enough, but I dunno, just something I didn't like about the film.

The Losers- 8.5/10. Very very good and highly entertaining.

OK, one, I said so far. And two, how can you say a movie that hasn't come out is your favorite this year?

PS: If you ask me, the only thing that could make Iron Man 2 on a par with Kick-Ass is if Crimson Dynamo is in it. Oh, it can still be good, I just wouldn't love it as much as Kick-Ass.

Saw Avatar the other night. It was every bit as terrible, cliche and predictable as I imagined it would be.

3/10. And the three is only because of the graphics. Which I also only found to be decent. Sure they look good, but it is really anything that new and amazing? No, is the answer.

    Capitalism: A Love Story - 0/10

Had to turn it off after 50 minutes. A massive steaming pile of horseshit.

Avatar- 6/10. Honestly, there was really nothing special here. The visuals were amazing, but the story was predictable and the writing was pretty blatantly bad. Why was this nominated for Best Picture again, when The Dark Knight wasn't?

Date Night- 7/10. It was a pretty fun experience, but nonetheless not extremely memorable. Still, the cast was great, especially all the cameos, which were hilarious (James Franco and JB Smoove stand out).

    I s till haven't seen Kick-Ass. I really need to though.

P.S. On the movie title thing outside the theater, it called "Kick". Couldn't be Kick-A? or Kick-Butt? Damn uptight people.

Avatar 7/10 it was pretty and i feel everyone's complaints about a re-hashed story but i still enjoyed it. can't believe so many people that liked ROTF hate Avatar.

Death at a Funeral 7/10 was silly, makes me want to see the original. but the cast is wait made this movie enjoyable to me.

It's a Gift - 9/10. W.C. Fields was a comedic genius. I think I'll let this one speak for itself.

YouTube - Out on the Porch

Notorious - 10/10. Hitchcock. Ingrid Bergman. Cary Grant. Need I say more? Hitchcock knew how to make a great film in his day.

American Outlaws - 8/10. I remember seeing this one in theaters, and I still enjoy it. It's big, it's loud, it's funny and I have yet to see Timothy Dalton in a role where I didn't like him.

Star Trek Generations - 6.5/10. Only two things save this movie imo. Stewart and Shatner. Patrick Stewart is one. Great. Actor. He can be handed the cheesiest, dumbest, most predictable dialogue, and turn it into Shakespeare. Because that's Patrick Stewart. And Shatner is just awesome because...it's Shatner. But I loathe Data. I wish he would be sucked out into deep space, and then I might like TNG more.

From the reviews I have read, it sounds amazing, as Pixar movies usually are. And since Toy Story is my all-time favorite animated movie, I doubt the third movie will disappoint me. Anyways, back on topic.

    Road House: 8/10

It still makes me sad watching this, knowing Patrick Swayze is dead now.

Yeah, Utah sometimes make me LUL.

I live in Lehi which is probably the most uptight place in all the land.
