Not a lover of bad movies I take it?

As a bad movie Battle Beyond the Stars is actually pretty watchable. It's Seven Samurai in space! Plus I use to watch this one all the time on HBO when I was a kid.

I've got this sick urge to subject you to another Sci Fi flim.... Starcrash, just to see your reaction. :D

Now to add to the thread.

    The Car (1977): 6/10 (as a good/bad film)

It's kind of like Jaws, but with a murderous demon car.

    The Good Son

I feel really sorry for all kids who loved Macaulay Culkin back at the day and saw this movie. I won't say it's horrible, but it is very disturbing for its content and casting.

    7/10

    What Lies Beneath - 8/10

Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford were both excellent here especially Harrison Ford, he really needs to play against type way more often and that bathtub scene.....that shit was tense.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind (special edition) - 2/10

This is loud and irritating throughout. This is the movie you want to see if you want to see the world's worst haircuts. And the movie isn't compelling enough to overcome those problems.

I basically agree with all of this. I would give Resurrection more points though, only because my favorite part of that movie is how the entire situation goes horribly out of control in the span of about 2 minutes.

Not nearly as bad as revenge, but the effects still suck and the shark still looks fake

    Aliens vs Predator : 7/10

Rewatched and I still found it watchable. The fight scenes were pretty good but the flaws were still there - uninspired plot and human characters were bland and had minimum character building. However it is still an enjoyable popcorn flick.

Loved the Preds - Celtic, Chopper and Scar!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier 9.5/10
I still haven't seen Thor: The Dark World, but I feel very comfortable saying that this is the best Marvel Studios film to date. Not necessarily my personal favorite, but I would definitely say it's the best. This is for one big reason: theme. All other MCU films have very simplistic themes emblematic of comic book escapism. Redemption, humility, heroism, friendship. All well and good and fitting for their respective characters, but still ultimately there to make the viewer feel good and walk away relatively unchallenged.
The Winter Soldier breaks the mold by presenting a very real, prescient, complex theme of freedom vs. security while still ultimately coming out on the side of comic book idealism, because the filmmakers never forget that this is still Captain Goddam America. And it does all this while 1.) never resorting to moody speechifying and 2.) presenting all the excellently choreographed, shot, and edited action sequences you'd want out of a mega-budget blockbuster. This thing might even be perfect were it not for some moderate pacing issues, but that's kind of negligible in the grand scheme of how goddam awesome this movie is. I can't believe I missed it in the theater.

That's why I loved Winter Soldier. It's complex, but it still knows how to have fun. It's Marvel's Dark Knight, and I would argue that it is better than that movie in a lot of ways (action, humor, better female characters, more heart to the story).
