So guys, I need some help here. I've never seen any of the Bay movies, but I kinda want to see AOE. Yea or nay? And be honest please.

AOE is actually pretty good so if you're that up to it then go for it.

Do it man. Michael Bay movies are like their own genre. It's a few hours in a nice, dark theater and the price of an admission ticket.

If it turns out you don't like it, hey, at least then you'll know how you feel about Michael Bay movies.

Michael Bay movies are always great experiences at the theater for me. I know exactly what to expect and the action scenes were meant to be seen on the big screen.

Despicable Me 2 - This movie turned out pretty well. I liked a lot of it better than the first one, but I felt the abundance of the Minions brought the movie down a peg to make it just a bit weaker than the first one. Yes, I know that might not make sense, but if you cut out a good 10 minutes away from the pointless minion scenes, this movie would be better than the first one as its jokes are funnier, more memorable, and its plot is better. Lucy was just awesome. However, because of the pointless Minion scenes, the movie is dragged down in a more childish manner that takes away from the over all story. I give the movie a 7/10 though, which is the same score I give the first one.

As far as 2014 movies, I liked it more than Spider-Man, but less than X-Men, Captain America, and Godzilla.
I don't want to give any spoilers, but I like the way they revisioned GALVATRON. The fight between Optimus and Grimlock was unnecessary (I felt they could have sped-up the story a bit at times, like that fight, but maybe it's because my butt was hurting from sitting so long...i'm not much of a sitter). I like how the trenchcoat on Crosshairs looked. I love Drift. The character of Hound was amusing, since he's a WWII vet, with the cigar and belly, and the gung-ho attitude. The international TF force made for interesting CHARACTERS, but you have to wonder...How do they have accents and characteristics from EARTH, when they are from SPACE? I love the Samurai look of Drift, but...how is that authentic? Still is fun.
So, if i had to scale it for 2014 (I can't do it for ALL TIME) I guess it would be
7/10 since I like 3 other 2014 movies more than it.

    Escape Plan on BD, 8/10

It would be a solid 7/10, but Arnie and Stallone do deliver and raise the film.

The big twist at the end was so painfully obvious, Stallones reaction should have been the total opposite of what was in the film!

She doesn't do much other than be annoyed. She looked annoyed. I can't really complain.

    Transformers : Age of Extinction - 9/10

Solid movie, although the first one is still my personal favorite.

    Damn, them Dinobots are huge.

    Transformers AOE - 7/10

I definitely enjoyed it more than the first three. The only major complaints I have are:
Galvatron didn't get NEARLY enough screentime, Dinobots weren't refereed to by name and were basically dumb animals, still too much human bullshit that nobody cares about, the dialogue was cringe worthy at times, and it was simply way too long. It easily could have been a half hour shorter. Like seriously, certain scenes that took place in the second and third acts could have already taken place earlier in the film and everything was drawn out
. Other than that, it was pretty decent. Lockdown is easily the best villain in the series so far.

It's not very good, but watch it for the experience.

Watch the first one. It's actually a damn good movie. I enjoy the hell out of it everytime I watch it.

    Pacific Rim - 6.5/10

The beginning was good and the female lead's story was touching, but I didn't really feel for the characters much after the second act(which felt like the third) and everything after it was so predictable Core/Independence Day BS.

Edge of Tomorrow - I got dragged to this against my will but it was actually not a bad movie. It was kind of boring, but the characters were good and it was nice to see Tom Cruise not play a pompous know it all for a change. The alien creatures were kind of interesting and the concept, while not original, was well executed. The parts that were supposed to make you laugh did so and you did feel for the characters, even if the concept did ruin the stakes a bit. It isn't a movie I will ever care if I see again, but there are worse bays of movies out there to view at the moment. If you have already seen the best this summer has to offer (X-Men, Godzilla, Capt Am) you can't do wrong with this movie at all. I give it a 7/10.
