The Jungle Book (7.5/10) Finishing off the animated movies produced by Walt Disney himself who passed away during this one production. Now I think this was a fun movie with some fun characters mostly being Baloo who makes the movie. His voice acting and song are the highlights that making the movie memorable. Bagheera acts as a good opposite to him while Mowgli is an okay kid. The animation is a step up from the previous movie "The Sword in the Stone". Shere Khan is a fun bad guy who just not in the movie long enough and wish he got more to do. Besides the the bear necessities the second best song would be i wanna be like you.

A fine film. Very beautiful, Roger Deakins absolutely deserved the 40 something awards he won. Also, I love the one-shot type of film. War sucks

    A few Recently:

Men in Black 3 (10/10) Absolutely an amazing film and the best in the series.

Logan (11/10) A perfect send-off for Wolverine and the Fox X-men universe.

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker (I'd rather get kicked in the balls/10)

    Pitch Perfect 6.25/10

My wife wanted to watch this last night, and I had never seen it before, so I figured what the hell. It's OK, I get that it has a cult following due to the musical performances. Very few laugh-out-loud moments, the male love interest just comes off as creepy to begin with, and I swear Anna Kendrick only has one expression. I've seen her in Scott Pilgrim vs The World and in that movie her one expression fits her bitchy-older-sister character; as a lead actress, there's just nothing memorable. And why is Rebel Wilson famous? Chris Farley she is not.

Hahaha, you just brought up bad memories about the sequels was I forced to watch. My mom didn't even like them. To answer your question, Middle age women though the funny fat person was funny despite Rebel Wilson being painfully unfunny.

Same, that is less painful than watching your childhood be burned down in front of me.

Rebel Wilson isn't as funny as she thinks she is. Which seems to be a common theme for comedy actors these days. Adam DeVine for example. His only redeeming quality is setting up people around him to play the straight man and make him look like a fool.

I will say I still enjoy the Pitch Perfect movies each in their own way, though in all honesty if you really sit down and assess them, the first one is the only one that had something special to it at all. The second veered off target and the third just literally went, "Rebel Wilson is now the main character and we should make everybody else look like idiots." The whole movie should have just been John Lithgow scowling and looking at his watch.

That is the most accurate assessment I have read of that series.

I think some of it is the content. DeVine seems like a decent guy. Had a really rough go of it in his childhood. He's blessed to even be alive, right now. (A truck (cement, I think) ran over him and crushed him.) He's at least more positive than a lot of people not in his situation, so so I give him credit and wiggle room.

I was more speaking of him as an actor rather than as a human being. I don't know his history and certainly don't judge the person he is simply because I don't know him.

That said, I have enjoyed several things he's been in. Including most of Workaholics. I just believe his acting strength lies in boosting other characters around him.

I should've clarified my point better. His life gave him perspective and allowed him to rise above it. Whereas Rebel Wilson's biggest claim to fame is that she's older (much, by some reports) than what was originally reported and she won a lawsuit against a newspaper of some sort for taking tabloid lengths to discredit her.

They both tend to have the same type of humor, elevating those around them, but he has the talent and his life gave him perspective. She on the other hand, can be funny, but her biggest "problem" was being outed for being old.
