Couldn't find a thread for this piece of art, so creating one even if this is a big of an older figure. When I purchased my TLK Megatron (Voyager) at the time, it was because from the image in the box, it looked amazing. In hand it was even better and I was (and still am) simply in awe of it.The quality of the plastic, the design, the engineering, the transformation... it's one of my favorite figures in my collection. There was (like always) a few things that I wished they had done that would have been even better. So fast-forward to a few years ago when I learned that there was a KO that had just about every fix I always hoped for: the Weijang Rendsora! But it was already hard to find as I missed it on release, and it was an oversized version. As I watched the videos that I could find along with pictures, I saw that there was two versions, and the one that had all of the improvements that I wanted, was the "battle" version (MW-002T). So that's when I started hunting for it and got lucky as heck as one showed up on eBay within a few weeks, and as much as the price was higher than what I hoped for, considering the original price and that it is still an OSKO, I simply went for it as I didn't expect to ever have it otherwise. On arrival, the first take was that it was HUGE, as big as a combiner and even Siege Jetfire, and it's quality... Absolutely nothing to find as a "con" for this guy. It's simply gorgeous in every way. The details, the finish, the paint, this guy looks like a high detailed display model but yet, with ratcheting legs, etc. he's solid as heck for his size. The added features compared to the voyager are: The mask! This was a huge thing that I really wish that the Voyager would have had so to hide the monster face thing they did. It's a lever operated design, which works great. Articulated hands (fingers), rotating wrists, and panels for the forearms... All freaking amazing to see done. Ratcheting knees and hips, and soft ratchets for elbows. The paint, and as this is the battle version, it has a metallic sheen paint. More due to the size, the tabs have been increased to hold the parts better. But as the original was excellent, the rest stands as it was and it's just a great looking figure. The jet mode transforms the same (aside the hands must be rotated correctly with the panels considered, that that you have to flip the mask in a way to rotate the head correctly and leave it open to fit into the cockpit's bottom. As per as the magic with this figure, the transformation isn't really complex but the results are incredible, you can barely imagine one mode turns into the other. For comparison , with a mainline figure:
I constantly regret not grabbing this guy when I could. TLK Voyager Megatron is also one of my favorites, with literally the only complaints I could levy at it being the source material's dull color scheme and the lack of wrists joints. I don't even remember why I held out on Rendsora... Surprised we never saw more color variants pop up.
