asda have a great idea. Take all the other toys off the shelf & only have Hotrod being the only toy they are selling.
Did\'nt care for him much until seeing some reviews. Seems pretty decent except for the small legs. Reminds me of those dudes at the gym who only workout their upper bodies.
I have the UPC from the eBay sales images of the Hot Rod without an Asda or Walmart sticker. That UPC is 630509589586 and it does not work at Walmart, it's not recognized as something they'd carry. Can someone who has the Asda one, in hand, please confirm if the UPC is the same or if they've modified it? Thanks.
The Asda release won't have a UPC, seeing as it's a European release that comes in European packaging and thus will have a 13-digit EAN barcode that will start with "5010993" instead. Generally, European releases in European packaging will never ever have the same barcodes as US/Canadian/Australian/Asian releases (except for those rare instances like Alternators Ravage's Asian release in European packaging, or the Australian release of the final Beast Hunters Cyberverse Legion wave in European packaging). For more on barcodes, see here: UPC/EAN barcode list for modern Transformers toys
Oh, I know how the UPCs work and their differences. I wanted to know if there was a sticker over the UPC to fit Asda, or if Hasbro actually printed a new box panel for the Asda market. That'll explain why the current UPC isn't working at Walmart. If they did it for Asda, Hasbro'll put out a box with a new UPC for Walmart.
Again, the barcode from those Asian eBay sellers will probably work for Walmart eventually, it's just that it hasn't been added to Walmart's website yet. The Asda release has a completely different packaging with a different printed barcode that doesn't even follow the same system at all. It's like PAL vs. NTSC.
The EAN barcode for the Asda exclusive UK release of Deluxe Hot Rod is 5010993416516. That number will be completely useless at the Walmart website, as it's an entirely different format, as explained above.
