With no books thread, and it only being comic.books, I thought it would be ok to make this.
I don't know how many people read but I still made this.

So.. Name the book and its author.
The Fire Ascending. By ... I forgo the name... well 4/10.

Not as good as the first 5 Last Dragon Chronicles books, and it doesn't make sense AT ALL

I've read quite a few recently.

Heroes of Olympus: Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan- 100/10
This was actually the second time I've read it since I first got it. It's still a fantastic book that had great character development, a good story, well-done romantic scenes, great action, and all the hilarious jokes you would expect from a Rick Riordan book. As far as Percy Jackson books go, I think this is my second favorite. I cried at the end and the wait for House of Hades is killing me.

    Eragon by Christopher Paolini- 7.5/10
It was decent. It had a good plot and the world that Paolini created felt like it was worth revisiting. The problem is that it is extremely similar to Star Wars. I don't normally criticize things for being unoriginal, but the main plot is exactly like Star Wars. Eragon wasn't a vey interesting character either. He felt kinda bland to me. I almost wish the book was about some of the other characters like Brom or Murtagh. It was a decent set up for a series that will probably get better with the sequels.

    The Hunger Games- 10/10
This was a great book, but I actually liked the movie a little more. Now it will take me months to get the second book from the library if I don't buy it first.

I also recently finished Brisngr by Christopher Paolini.
    I have to give it... a 7/10
Not as great as Eldest, which I give a 10/10.
Brisingr was nice, but not as exciting.
Eldest was just amazing, introducing 2 new dragons and such, but, you don't wanna read all of my review. XD

At least the book was better than that fucking abysmal film they made; Jesus what a mess. Everyone but Jeremy Irons was out-acted by Jeremy Iron's eyebrows, and he in turn out-acted them.

    The Hobbit - 10/10

A great old adventure yarn that I decided to buy and read again in preparation for the upcoming movie.

    Yes. A lot.

If you consider school book a book because some consider it a text, than yes I do read a lot.

    My rate as a student = 3.
The book/text is horrible, the lack of explanations and leaving information out are lousy.

I'd have to say the entire Temeraire series of novels by Naomi Novik. I don't usually read fantasy novels involving events from history, something about dragons being mixed into the Napoleonic War seemed irresistible.

Last book I read was Relic by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Great book 10 out of 10 in my opinion. Mediocre B monster movie adaptation though.

Small Favor (A Dresden Files novel) by Jim Butcher. 8/10. Not the best on, but a LOT of long term plot advancement and some interesting character growth.

Recent reads for me are The Hunger Games and Catching Fire, which I'd give 9/10 to both.
Then Game of Thrones, an 8/10.
Currently reading the Hobbit in prep for the movie, and it gets a good old 10/10.

Ooooh is this the new Dresden that just came out? I just started the series myself at the behest of my significant other.

Yeah, the movie took out all the parts of the book that made it a little more than a Star Wars rip off and I'm told it messed things up for the rest of the series.

My rating for The Hobbit is 9.75/10.

    The Great Gatsby- 9.5/10
Even though it was required school reading, I actually enjoyed reading this book.

    Ethan Frome - 8/10

It was good but some parts could have been better.

    The Crucible - 10/10

It was great the whole story was centered around the Salem Witch Trials.

    ^Above books were school material.

This actually does remind me that I need to read this book again at some point within a week or so in order to prepare for the upcoming movie. So excited to go see it. :D

    Selected Canterbury Tales - 7/10
It was a nice read, but not THAT nice of a read.

Walden by Henry David Thoreau - 7.8/10
Too many damn words, but it's thought provoking.

The script of the screenplay Cloud Atlas - first readthrough 7.6/10, second reading 8.9/10
Although it was initially hard to follow with constant switching between characters, I reread the whole thing to better understand the film and the story. It's a first draft, though, so differences were there between the two.

In Progress: The Cloud Atlas - 8/10
    Beautifully structured book. Great characters.

I read Bruce Campbell's If Chins Could Kill: Confessions Of A B-Movie Actor once a year (during the fall/winter months) and I'm happy to say that I just finished it for the 10th time. I will always rate it 10/10.

Yep, read all as much as time allows.

Just finishing up 'Killing Lincoln' by Bill O'Reilly, didn't think it would be that great of a book, we all know what happened, but the way he wrote it, there's all kind of little details the history books and classes never told you about. Fast read and well written.
