I just thought it was funny that the "video" was just a slideshow of the photos that had been released earlier that day. Yay, an actual video now! :lol

re: JinBao Bruticus, the build quality is excellent, and the individual figures are generally MORE sturdy than the JB Constructicons (just due to how they're designed). Figures are durable, joints are strong, combined mode is stable. The sheer bulk of the Combaticons makes them fun to handle individually, but Bruticus holds up nice too.

The only complaints I have about the JB Bruticus are the complaints I have with the original Warbotron design. There are a lot of annoyances for me, and JB doesn't really change anything. I find the proportions are a bit weird in the combined mode, and Onslaught's bulk is distributed poorly, considering that the entire waist/hips of the combined mode is composed of an add-on trailer. Lots of things feel poorly integrated (like his back cannons). The parts-forming on Vortex annoys me... a lot. But as far as what you get for your money with the JB set... still an amazing deal!

Because I'm a toy-style fan, I did a little bit of repainting on my JB Bruticus. Here you can see the stock head, and the larger custom head I was testing out (which I think is too simplified probably).

You can sort of see one of the other minor criticisms of Warbotron design here... there's so much surface detailing and almost no appropriate open space to place faction stickers. There's one tiny spot on his chest plate for a rather small Decepticon logo, which you can barely make out here :lol

Okay sounds good, custom head looks cool to me. I guess poor Cyclonus is getting delayed from me once again:lol  .

Jinbao Bruticus is one of my favorite combiner sets. The individual members are excellent and the combined mode is a cool stylized take. Its worth $100, without question.

    1. That larger head actually makes a huge difference in helping his proportions

    2. It looks like he's crashing out the door ready to fight:
"HEY! GET OFF MY LAWN YOU DAMN AUTOBOT PUNKS!!!"

    1. Right? the different head proportions also make it look like it sits a bit higher. When you compare it directly with the regular Warbotron head, it really makes you more aware of how tiny and recessed the stock head is!

That larger head is an old resin-cast custom head I got on the boards here many years ago (I forget the original artist). I feel like it's just a bit TOO large, and too 'clean' compared to the intense detailing on the rest of the set, but I do like how it changes the look of the overall combiner.

I also think the silver paint on the chest helps the proportions, just because it unifies the torso more - otherwise the Warbotron chest plate feels a bit small and high, like an oversized bowtie. :)

    2. :lol  He should have a beer can in one hand... and maybe a baseball bat in the other.

That's my old basement door that led to my collection area / game room / studio, and opened onto an overgrown private lane. I used to use it for taking photos of all sorts of stuff. It's one of the things I miss most about my old place.

Found some little bots in capsules and got one for my nephew.
Cool little dude is a little taller than a Siege Battlemaster but certainly chunkier. Will probably get one for myself too. IMG_20230110_200615.jpg IMG_20230110_200517.jpg

Oh man, I'd love to find something like that. Bots in capsules have always been a weakness for me, especially if they're poseable or have some gimmick. My all-time favorites, and the ones I wish I still had, were some little 1" tall knock-offs of Block-Man that actually still had the accessories and ability to connect/combine, etc.

Before I have also found in capsules members of the micromaster combiner teams. Those required assembly and application of stickers.
Only got two of those back then and I hope to find them again.

Lucky you. Slap those on a cheap cardback and I'm not interested; put them in a capsule in a vending machine and I can't pass them by.

Finally mine! One of the rarest KO Happy Well, the fusion and not real transformers, but let's talk about a series of Takara... ^^

Interesting, let's hope someone sells them on Aliexpress or some other international sales site...

As someone who's considering getting the CBB Devastator KO, does he have a lot of breakage issues and can they be prevented with the right precautions? I have the Hasbro version but it's very frustrating how he doesn't scale with anything but himself. He utterly towers over all the other combiners in my collection.
