Well this may be an unpopular opinion for some but I just love the KFC cassettes which look great, all be it a little flimsy!

 

 

Do NOT get the KFC cassettes. They will break if you look at them.

 

But... the OP asked where the 3rd party, err g1 ko, tapes are available.

Still love those KFC cassettes though, and the KO MP cassettes too which all look pretty dandy within my CHUG displays!  

With that recent official black lion cassette I'm surprised Hasbro haven't put their own MP Blaster offering up for a fan vote or similar?

Just got my CBB G2 Bruticus from Ebay. Did anyone else just get their Vortex in the worst possible state? It looks like they gave up on the balljoint and just shot a pin through the side of his head...Which also launched off the face....

 

The version that came with my CBB Protectobot 5-pack was designed this way too... the Blades-coloured Vortex head was pinned through, removing any articulation.

I'm not sure if this is something that's done consistently... or at least inconsistently reported. Maybe they do this at the factory if the balljoint is malformed?

Here's a photo of an original Alpha Bravo and KO G2 Vortex - It shows to KO to have a wider head and neck joint which may have resulted in it not staying on when put together so perhaps that's why they shot a pin through the KOs? I dunno?  

 

Did yours come with the face attached? Or did they massacre my boy? Because mine has no faceplate at all. Just the back of the head, likely because they shot the pin into the worst place for it...

 

 
Mine came with his face luckily and the pin is set back enough to not really make contact, so I would guess that may have been a problem with the glue used to stick both bits of the head together? It may have fallen off from not having enough glue either in the factory or through handling when packaged? If you still have your shipper it might be worth taking a look under the box flaps?  

 

I'll probably look around a bit again. I checked around pretty extensively. Honestly, it's funny enough to me that I am not that mad. The laugh I got out of taking out this lil cyan terror was worth it.

Yech. These "solutions" for the newer KOs feel very improvised. Not sure how i feel about that.

 

This scares me as I just bought a whole new batch of of cbb skittles, a cbb g2 bruticus and a cbb superion. Also bought a swag of single Cbb figs.
I loved the fist batch I got, but those pics are disturbing.
