Have you considered bulk lots and 2nd hand goods on eBay they can be cheaper than Retail options.

To clarify, on the Masterpiece, the limbs detach. It's fully tranformable from 5 lions to Voltron. It's just that the red/green lions don't pop their heads off like on the old Matchbox version (as spring-loaded missiles). The Masterpiece is a tall, imposing modern Voltron figure with nice articulation, and the separate lions are fun to pose.

But for the pure nostalgia experience, for sure... Lionbot. Or if it's easier, the Trendmasters '97 rerelease (which has the springs removed, but all the little launchers and stuff are still there).

Honestly, I currently own the Toynami plastic Masterpiece and the big Playmates Classic versions, and I like them a lot, but neither one really scratches that childhood itch, remembering the old Lionbots and Matchbox Voltrons of the 80s.

Are the Lionbots you're seeing available originals, or are they new versions. Just curious (and itchy). :lol

I have, ebay shipping tends to not make the deals appealing. I'm just looking for some extra sideswipes for customs fodder, so why I asked about KOs. Found some Red Alerts locally that are on sales, so I'll likely go that route.

I see your knowledge regarding KOs of DX9 Hulkie is much broader than mine :) . I thought there are 4 or 5 KOs, I see I was wrong. Happy hunting and good luck finding all of them at reasonable price :) .

In that regard if anyone sees the JJ (the worse standard size GT KO) being sold individually on ebay or aliexpress can they point me at them - as I'd like the get JJ's Scavenger to complement my NBK's and their Hook to give my NBK set a gun.

Speaking of Constructicons I only recently had the Daban one delivered. Then I need to the underscale Combiner Wars one, after that things start to get a bit pricey JinBao oversize, the various G1 KO recolours, The MFT in Orange.

I won't buy everything just because it is there - like I don't plan on buyin a legit or MFT Yellow Hulkie until I know if its a different shade of yellow from the more recent cheap one. I suppose eventually I'll have to chase the Black GT If I'm feeling flush. It's something that one can really just keep chipping away at it's almost like collecting Optimus Prime's there is always something else to buy.

The same idea seems to apply to the Combaticons too. I do like to change tack and buy other combiners too though I'm not just obssessed with the Constructicons... they are just something I enjoy - perhaps it's my inner 7 year old that enjoys the juxtaposition of TONKA Trucks and Titanic robots.

There's a guy on FB who's actually making these. For those unaware, Obvious Plant makes this shit and smuggles it onto store pegs.

Big ups to @SirToys for a sterling first service - both my Clever Girls landed today.
A solid pair of little-but-larger Velociraptors, a little looser on the finish as expected by Black Mamba but nothing I can't snag myself, and the tolerance on their pegs was a wee bit on the larger side for my liking on both blasters but Swoop needed a gat or two and they fit him nice a snugly, turns out the super-loose-in-other-Dino hands blaster from Blue Slag (it even swung around in the mitts of the figure it accompanied!) fits them far more comfortably so you might want to have a round of "Musical Blasters" between your own OS Dinos to avoid stressing or busting an OS Slash fist. Both swords were fine though as befits her true name!
Haven't had the chance to test the fist peg tolerances for use as Volcanicus chest yet but happy to complete the embiggened Team Dino.
    Thanks, Paul!

EDIT: After a careful Godfist wrist peg test using the forearm ports of Slag & Sludge, I'd urge caution against using the Slash extra fists straight away, test your tolerances first as, like I discovered in overeagerness with the Pink OS Slash's Godmitts, they may need some shaving/sanding down to not stress Grimlock's chest ports. All four of mine definitely do need that trimming before seeing such service!

I just did a really quick eBay search to get an idea how scarce they are, and there are plenty of the Lionbot box sets in the <$130 range. The box art looks vintage enough, but as far as vintage vs a new version, I don't know how to tell. I really just started looking on a whim when I asked the first question. I got some homework to do!
