He really didn't. All he posted was that he had been in contact with a Weijiang representative and was told that nothing was the matter.

Here's the thing: the last to admit to being in trouble, is the company that's in trouble. Because admitting that you're in trouble is bad for business. Until the moment they get shut down (if that happens), they will keep saying (to potential buyers) that everything is fine. Because as long as they keep saying everything is fine they will get money from customers or financial backers. As soon as they admit to being in trouble, everything ends and they loose sales.

(Sadly, I speak from personal experience when the company I worked for filed for bankruptcy: up until the day this happened, everything was fine: orders were accepted, people sent out to work on projects and all employees were told that everything was fine, even if they needed to know (like buying a house and closing a mortgage) that it really wasn't.)

Here's the baidu thread concerning the rumor
    群里看到的【变形金刚玩具吧】_百度贴吧

There's no update since. The posters there dismissed it immediately when they saw that it was started by this "Toto" shop. This seller was blacklisted years ago by various 3Ps for undercutting their MSRPs. Soooo someone has an agenda, what's yours?

Yeah, that's exactly why casual dismissals by WeiJiang haven't 100% convinced me. I'm not sure what kind of source could reliably provide the straight dirt, though... so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh, give it a rest with the paranoid bullshit, guy. You're ridiculous. :rolleyes2

I don't have an "agenda" unless it's getting my hands on whatever sweet oversized Siege toys WJ has in the pipe. I'm not some pretentious cool-guy KO dark-web insider. :lol  I just want someone to explain shit in a knowledgeable, credible way, rather than just posting stuff like "LOL fake!" which is not real helpful.

See, that's also kind of stupid. Obviously you had info about the context of these rumours from a Chinese collector forum. That's not "nothing"... that's information that helps explain to the rest of us what's been going on.

Being oblique and dismissive and hostile/paranoid just makes it seem like "someone" is trying to sweep something under the rug.

Was just thinking how I don’t need any of those OS Siege figures being too big as they are, but if they were released in some different colors I’d be interested. In particular I think Hound in Roadbuster’s colors would be awesome.

That would be awesome. I wouldn't say no to some interesting repaints, that's for sure!

I find the Hasbro Siege figures are all a bit on the small side, so upscaled might fit into the collection in other ways. They probably won't be expensive, so I'd be willing to buy them just to see how they feel.

I mean up-sized Sixgun, Flywheels, Impactor, or Ironhide would all be neat additions to my CHUG collection. And an upscaled Megatron, Optimus, Soundwave, Springer, or Shockwave? Pure gold. :D

Yeah--some of those Siege Deluxes repainted as oversized "other guys" would be pretty cool. Impactor oversized would be a great figure by itself. I'm kinda wondering if I'd get an OS Ratchet to go with my old IGear Ironhide. And I'd take an upsized Springer if he was the same height (even a touch taller I'd deal with) as his T30 version, but I'm not counting on that. On the flip of it, I have no need for a Prime, Megatron or Shockwave that's practically MP height. I already have MP's for those one way or the other

Yeah, it does depend on HOW oversized they are. I doubt they'd be MP-sized... but to go from small-ish Voyagers to something closer to the old Ultra size class? I'd take that.
