I'm unsure as to if these would count as Knock-offs/bootlegs per-say but they certainly aren't officially licensed or made by the original producer (as such, are thus reproduced without permission). Regardless, I hope some may find these intriguing. All of these were found on the website Thingiverse and can be 3D printed, free of charge. Links are provided to the Thing's page under each picture.

And what I'm sure will intrigue the most, a 1-1, 3D printable replica of an MP Optimus

A 3d printed one, at that. Though I think this is might technically be based on Hubcap, not Cliffjumper. The lack of a spoiler in car mode is a Hubcap trait.

Have you printed any of these? I've had them all downloaded to print for a couple months now but haven't tried any. Curious if anyone has any actual experience with the models.

I haven't yet, but I intended on printing the Minibot (whoever it might be) tomorrow. I've got some Glow in the Dark filament I want to make the body out of.

Aww shucks. And given that I'm your only real rival for Paul's Mortgage payments, it stands to reason we'd have similar tastes :lol

I gave Hubcap a whirl (I'ts definitely supposed to be Hubs, the name of the files indicates so as well), now I screwed around with the scale a little and printed him in a high-res SLA material, so I definitely wasn't using the files as designed, but:

Like a lot of the stuff you find on Thingiverse the engineering is optimized for FDM ABS - now this isn't a bad thing, I always preach designing for your particular material in mind. But this thing uses a lot of "cheats" in the engineering that you can get away with in FDM ABS to make it all work based on just friction. I'm going to try gluing him together at some point, but I think the ankle mechanisms are going to be useless even with all the shell parts nice and tight.

That said it's good modelling work, the files are packaged a little sloppily, but it's not bad for a freeebie.

I grabbed the slammer too, haven't tried him yet though.

Good to know. I was thinking about printing him on my SLA printer so I could make him WST-scale, but now I'll just do him on one of my FDMs and tweak as needed. You're definitely right about designing toward the material -- I've done stuff I was planning on doing the final in resin for the higher resolution but fired off tests on the FDM because it's faster. The results from the FDM would look good enough I'd try with the resin and it wouldn't be nearly as nice/joints wouldn't line up as well.

Decided to put your inquiry here as well since Paul frequents this thread more than any other on these boards.

Plus, there are others in this thread that have done a number of customizations with things from his site.... KO CW seekers included (here’s a link to a pic from ~page 1240: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/attachments/27713023/)

Oh, and @vvvTheONEvvv & @destrongerlupus, as for paying off his mortgage, slow your roll... I’d like for the large volume of flash sales to come back. ;)

Assuming this is the same one from the other thread (has it's own thread what ever it is), I think these are the first "studio" pictures and the first pictures at all of the truck mode. I was already wondering if I might have to get it, at that price and now apparently confirmed as Wei Jiang, I'm probably going to have to.

Actually, after a closer examination, this is not the same as the other unless they've made further paint improvements since the initial pictures (which is certainly always possible). There may be 2 of these coming out.
