So, the Gamera Rebirth will have at least 5 other Kaiju. Bandai is making a Monster-Arts figure for the new Gamera so if the show does good maybe we will get figures of the other monsters?

Damn, the paint on the Hiya is kind of disappointing. I do respect the attempt to capture Rodan's fiery appearance from the movie. I passed on the MonsterArts version because Rodan was never as 'clean' as their rendition in the movie (also the price was kind of nuts). Overall I actually think NECA did the best job on the aesthetics, as their sculpt was on par with Hiya and Bandai, with arguably better executed paint. However Im still keeping my preorder for the Hiya version because those flexible wings look fantastic. I love that you can recreate his 'spiral' maneuver from the movie!

Separate metallic release ain't it, Super7... I'm still thinking the look of wave 2 and not being able to find the Target exclusive after months means I'm done with the mainline though, but maybe Megalon would change my mind.

I passed on this one because I still have my well loved original, but I'd be ALL OVER them doing other (especially Showa) Godzilla monsters,

    Thanks for the heads up

This was actually released several years ago. I suspect Super7 releasing a proper polly Jumbo of Mechagodzilla has Toynami hoping for some easy sales on this Godzilla re-release. It’s an okay toy made of hard plastic and not the proper polly of a “real” Jumbo Machinder. Looks the part though.

This is actually being made correctly

Oh ok thanks for the info, I completely missed that. There's only 11 left at BBTS but I think I'll pass. I'd want to get the Mechagodzilla and then it's a $700 total purchase lol

So I recently got ahold of the Mezco Hedorah set and I'm enjoying it so far. I got both Destroy All Monsters sets and preordered the Mechagodzilla one, but I started thinking, what additional sets would be cool? My thoughts:

-A third DAM set with Manda, Varan, and Kumonga to finish the cast. A fourth slot could be added to provide extra replacement heads/limbs for Godzilla, Baragon, etc.
-Godzilla vs Megalon set with Megalon, Jet Jaguar, and an additional miniature JJ
-King Kong vs Godzilla set, complete with The Tree and lightning effects for Kong

    Thoughts? Any other suggestions?

I would really like a set with Jet Jaguar. I mean I hope they get around to doing them all and even move on to stuff like Biolante, etc.

I had to buy that set when I saw it in a shop despite my knowing I'd have saved a few bucks by going to Amazon, BBTS, or EE. Somehow, I seem to have resisted that urge with SHMA, NECA, etc. (unless the price is the most reasonable), but the Mezco figures don't seem to let me go without coming along with me. :)

Megalon would seem to be the most likely next entry. I'd kill for an Atragon Manda, though I wouldn't be so psyched about a DAM one.

Part of me is concerned they might not get past Showa. It's not that there's any indicator of that, but an odd vibe I get. If they do though, '84/'85 with Super-X and Maser tanks would be a favorite. For size, Biollante would have to be limited to it and G as a set.

I kinda wonder if they'd do Showa Gamera before Heisei Godzilla.

If we don’t get something as complementary to existing set as a third round for DAM, I have zero confidence in something as obscure as Space Amoeba kaiju.

Gamera would be interesting but wonder if Mezco would want to invest in that license.

Yes to Godzilla vs. Megalon! There should be a Gigan included as well. I like the idea of a mini JJ, although I dont think you could really get a miniature small enough to actually be in scale. Maybe throw in a swappable tail for Godzilla that can act as a stand for his physics-defying flying jump kick.
