LOL this takes me back. I had both versions of the original Shogun Rodan, along with Godzilla, waaaay back in the day.
Never even knew the Rodan existed up to a few years ago. wonder if they will make any other retro style monsters. Ghidorah seems like a good candidate.
The mainline Toho ReAction line kinda fills that niche already in providing retro toy looks, whereas the drastic difference between Shogun Godzilla and Rodan to the canon appearances only get the nod as much as they have for historical and nostalgic purposes. Never say never, but I doubt Super7 would try to emulate how off-model the Shogun kaiju were with anything else. What we will probably get are a couple more Rodan variants and maybe this segment of the line moves on to homage other past Godzilla toylines. There's lots of Marusan and Bullmark designs untapped, and there's Trendmasters...
I would LOVE it if they did the Hanna Barbera version of Godzilla. Ive got the staue that came out but would buy a figure version of him. Could have a tiny version of Godzuki and the ship for accessories.
That's a good call too! Not a series I remotely like but I'd get a matching HB Godzilla ReAction no problem. Probably not if it got the Ultimates! treatment though, and any Godzooky is a tough sell. Hell, if it was possible to get a HG Toys Godzilla and Tricephalon, I'd buy those in a heartbeat too.
Got mine in my Pile of Loot now. Kinda miffed, because I JUST had other items in my POL set to ship last week, which BBST finally shipped out today (I think they only ship out on Wednesdays now).
The figure was released 2 weeks back in my country and I’m impressed by it. Face sculpt is soft but I prefer it to the SHM version…which is too small IMO.
I think they shipped out pretty much everyday except for the weekends, but I could be wrong. Lucky duck you. But anyways I'm looking forward to seeing this in person.
LOL! Tbh I was very worried that Bandai will block the sale of the Kong but thankfully the import store managed to bring the figure in.
These pictures are especially for you Ezilla82. Went back to my folks’ house as we’re celebrating “Chinese New Year”. My apologies to the Hiya Kong…his face sculpt is pretty good and he’s a rather handsome ape! LOL!
LOL! Np, man! He's a rather handsome monke! TBH While Shm kaijus do look good sans the Derby eyes problem, I prefer my kaiju figures bigger. I grew up in the era when the Bandai figures were 8 inches tall and thick. I'm really looking forward to Super7's line because of the size. I also hope Hiya release King Ghidorah but I hope they don't use rubber wings.
Unfortunately, it's not. This year marks the show's move to a fall event, September 30th to October 3rd at the Javits Center.
