I got the Mezco Mothra/Twins set in yesterday direct from Mezco. I like it a lot, the box is a cool display, but I probably won't wind up using it that way. Only thing I don't like is the peg hole for the stand, they put it on the back of Mothra. Not a huge deal.

No she's not. The original Showa designs were brown.

Compared to the Revoltech toy at least where it shows more black and vibrant red on the wings. This Mezco release is too dusty.

Mezco’s deco looks like it’s shooting for lower light conditions, like a sunset, but I’d have to rewatch the film, as I don’t recall well enough if such a scene was in Mothra.

I got my set the other day as well, but as neat as it seems I’m probably offloading it and just being done with Mezco.

Yes, but the Revoltech toy is the 61 Mothra, the Mezco one is 64. Though, it could just be the lighting from those images because she does look a tad darker than the YouTube video I saw.

If you look at this image from the X Plus, her fur is just as brown:

Sure is! Annoying that the line still isn't at my local Target.

it covers all the Japanese films, the American films with about four-six pages apiece... it also touches on comics, other media (tv cartoon, Japanese appearances)...not really a lot of behind-the-scenes like in those magazines sold at the Godzilla Store/Kinokuniya, just straightforward entry on each film with a few asides...maybe not as in-depth as I was expecting but still lotsa pictures and good basic information...

Wait, it covers all of the movies and not just Shin? I might have to pick it up then. Any good screen shots?

Anything I've read so far about the book sounds like it's this generation's version of the Official Godzilla Compendium, for all that means, good and bad. A fine release for a layman or casual fan. Personally, I don't tend to mess with Godzilla books anyway, but I've yet to flip through this one so maybe I'd change my mind.

yeah, I'd say there's some nice imagery from the films...

the book has all the Japanese films divided by era including the anime films, then the American films, then television, comics (strangely not mentioning the Marvel run but mentioning Barkley vs Godzilla) and videogames...

Been a fan of this Titanicus design but never thought it’d get a fully articulated figure. The price isn’t bad especially compared to some SHMs. Hopefully there’s enough interest to get it made. If money wasn’t tight right now I’d definitely jump on it.

I have some high quality gashapons I bought ages ago, like 15 years ago, and the plastic is breaking down. They're beautiful and highly detailed. The Jet Jaguar, King Ceasar, Hedorah actually have far more detail and paint than the standard Bandai figure of the time. However they're all sort of sticky to the touch now. So yeah, days are numbered....

Looking to replace them. Might go Mezco because they're smaller than the NECA/SHMA standard, but wondering if there are other options. Do they still do gashapons like that?

Probably would be a good point of comparison to know which figures you’re talking about. I assume not Ultimate Solid since they never did JJ. If you simply mean Bandai’s High Grade line, still exists and even had series several years ago to reissue older figures.

The stickiness is probably a matter of the paint and the passage of time and not anything to do with the plastic deteriorating.

Preordered the set the moment I saw it go up at BBTS.

Now they just need to give us at least Gigan, Titanosaurus, the 64 version of Godzilla, and King Kong 62, I'll be quite happy. If they want to do more Showa monsters beyond those, I'll buy them too. Hell, a 54 Godzilla set that includes a bunch of accessories would be nice.
