Any Kongs out there that would match up with this guy(Ichibansho- 9” tall), scale wise? Just picked him up and I’m pretty impressed. FB8EECEB-15BF-4265-A90B-5CA85A88A0AE.jpeg

    Was thinking maybe this guy(Art Spirits 7.6”- tall)but he’s pretty expensive. B5BDE987-7FA7-404F-A49A-A22DD18E301F.jpeg

    (Danger: Unpopular opinion/request ahead)
I'm in need of a Godzilla form the 1998 film with Mathew Broderick, the one where Godzilla looks like a very large velociraptor.
I know the film is old and whatnot, but can any Godzillas from that era be had for cheap?

There's so few Kongs out there, it's slim pickings.

I don't think anything was made for that movie after the initial release outside of the recent Deforeal figure. So I'd just search ebay for 1998 Godzilla.

Depends on what you’d consider cheap.
I know the last time I looked at ebay (maybe a year and a half ago) most of the common toys and memorabilia from Godzilla 98 stuff, loose out of package, was two to three times the original MSRP.

I just got the Deforeal Biollante in. Way bigger than I expected. The Monstararts is larger footprint wise, but this is just so huge. Glad to have it!

Yeah I"m seeing that, it's kinda nuts, doubly so since this is just for a single photoshoot...
    I'll keep digging around.

Remember trendmasters' line? Dug these out of storage ...

it was fun to get both gamera and godzilla monsters in the same line...must have been around 1998 because of 'Zilla'...not sure if the classic Toho monsters came after or before that...

these little guys were in the same bin...must have been around the time of the 98 Godzilla film as well since 'Zilla' is one of the group...

I think Trendmasters started with the Heisei Era characters a few years before the American movie. I had so many of their figures, both the non-poseable PVC figures and the articulated ones with electronic roars (that bright blue Space Godzilla at the bottom of your first picture was perhaps my favorite of the line.)

I also had many of those "Big/Super/Hyper" Godzilla candy toy figures from your 2nd photo. I loved their size, price, and especially their sculpted detail. HG Series gashapon figures were my all-time favorites due to their size, but those candy toy figures were often near-perfect replicas of the suits.

As for stuff that I found recently, I came across this at a local anime store & couldn't pass it up:

    ArtSpiritsRodan.jpg

Plex/Art Spirits Hyper Modeling Rodan from 2019's King of the Monsters. He's just over 6" across from wing to wing, and the sculpt & paint are fantastic! I'd missed out on the preorders for this set, but Rodan was always the one I'd wanted the most. Now I'm especially glad I never pulled the trigger on that Premium Bandai HGD+EX set, this figure is leagues better!

I've got a set of Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, Ghidorah, and Mothra still on card. I should find them for display.

Megalon, Varan, and Baragon... mmm. I have a Doom Island Varan, but it got literally crushed in a series of very sad circumstances, still keep the pieces in a bag of shame somewhere.

That's a spicy meatball for sure. The engineering for the eyes is kinda neat, probably works better at that scale than the SHMA Godzilla 1964 that many vocally complain over.

Hm, I'm a little torn on the Mezco Godzilla. The sculpt looks incredible and I love the features, but the articulation is more basic than I was hoping for and that solid tail is going to pose a massive problem (literally) for displaying him. For the money I might prefer to grab an X-Plus vinyl.

This part of the description is confusing me when combined with the "10 points of articulation": "a tail with an internal skeleton armature that is durable yet highly posable."

So, does that mean the tail has multiple points of articulation that isn't counted in the "10 points"?
