well, in 2010 and 2011, i had to work on xmas eve and new years day. though i was late to the family gathering on xmas. and i waited until midnight for the new year and had to wake up five hours later for work for the hungery growd looking to eat out on new years day.
I had to work today AND Christmas Eve. And Thanksgiving. Would've gotten Holiday pay for working Turkey day had I not called off to watch my kid brother earlier that week. I also have to work tomorrow. As long as I work for Kroger, I will never have to worry about working Dec 25 (which is the one day out of the year Kroger is closed)
I "worked" throughout the holidays... but it was nothing more than cleaning up the place, making sure the roads are serviceable and such.
I used to work every holiday. Sometimes had Christmas Eve off. No longer working at a movie theatre, though! Unfortunately, not working anywhere at the moment...but I feel your pain. I used to duck out at 11:50, drive the 6 minutes to my house, kiss my wife, then drive back.
