this movie is awesome. I loved soundwave! The action is epic and barricade is there. felt shockwave was not in the movie very much but laserbeak was sick. saw the movie in 3d its was great. only part i didn't like was the death of IRONHIDE! this is totally worth seeing.

Not sure what I thought. I enjoyed a lot of it, but was a bit disappointed at how much the supposedly amazing last hour focused on humans fighting decepticons and how little time was actually spent on robot on robot fighting.

That being said the worm and the building was great, as were the flying squirrel people.

Although I won't be sure until I've seen the movie a few more times on DVD (and possibly in the theater)- I'm disapointed to say I don't think any fight in this movie came close to the warehouse/forest battle in ROTF. I was really hoping for more fights on par with/better than that in this movie. I think the only one that even came close was the freeway fight.

But I'm complaining too much, the movie was without a doubt a much more functional movie than ROTF and there were many great scenes!

Great movie. loads better than ROTF, slightly better than the 2007 movie.

Shockwave was a mild let down. He could have done more, given both his entrances were freakin' epic.

Sentinel Prime was a great character and brilliantly voice acted by Leonard Nimoy. I especially loved his interactions with Prime.

The tone of the movie was hella dark, which i dug the crap out of.

ony gripes are the editing during the long Chicago sequence and a few parts that just made no sense logically (i.e Optimus prime losing his trailer to Shockwave/ the-Drill-worm-thing and then somehow having his jetpack in the next major scene, and Optimus getting stuck in the cables of a building in said jetpack). Additionally, Shockwave and Megatron just stand/sit around at various points toward the end of the movie, which is rather annoying. I felt like Shockwave coulda done more.

The whole bit with Optimus getting caught in the building cables and the wreckers having to cut him out was a bit ridiculous. Megatron sitting around until Carly told him he was Sentinel's bitch was a bit annoying.

Que was decidely "meh" overall. I really do not dig how he was designed. Dino i actually really dug.

Sideswipe was great. Ironhide was great. though, maybe it was just the theater i saw it in (which was having issues with the 3d for the first 45 minutes or so) but lots of the shots in the NEST HQ made Ironhide look almost like he had a big head and tiny body.

Ironhide's death was brutal and blew me away. Starscream;s final scene was great.

The humor was there and was much better than the other 2 movies.

The human actors were all great. Though i have to give a huge nod to Alan Tudyck and Patrick Dempsey as actors. Their characters did not develop how i thought they would.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley/Carly is hott. Her first scene was just wow. Though i do feel bay exploited her hottness a bit much.

The final battle wiht Megs. optimus and sentinel rocked. Loved the brutality of it and the part where Megatron said, "this is my planet!" and pwned Sentinel. also loved the part between Megs and OP: Megs: "What would you be without me?" Optimus: *closes his mouth plate*:"Time to find out."

Brains was funny but kind of "eh". wheelie and him get major kudos for doing what they did though. I dug Wheelie a lot more in this movie.

The wreckers were pretty good. like Roadbuster alot. Not sure if Topspin had any lines. LEadfoot was good, but i dont know how i feel about his CGI model.

    Overall: 9/10

Was it only me, or did anyone else see a Johnny Knoxville cameo at the shuttle scene
    at the beginning?

Just got back from the 9:00 showing in Real3D...unfortunately, I seemed to pick the wrong theater to see the premier at (it was the closest to me). Good thing was, there were no lines at all and I got a great seat. Bad thing, no air of excitement like I encountered during movie 1 & 2's premiers. The auditorium itself (medium-sized), I estimated only little over half-filled. However, the audience was very behaved and 'into' the movie.

The movie...definitely 10X better than ROTF, easily. Visuals, 3D, SFX...all top notch; the respective crews pulled out all the stops for this and it showed.

Plot...I have and read both the comic adaptation and novel, and YET there were parts of the story that were changed/omitted, that surprised me, mainly the ending. The whole last 30-45 min. felt like a theme park ride (felt that most with the flying and skydiving sequences). I also felt this story was a lot easier to follow than the one in ROTF.

Characters...the ones that stood out most for me was Soundwave & Laserbeak; this is what I was left begging for after ROTF and I got it! Shockwave (and the driller)...very impressive and menacing. Sentinel Prime...what a SOB! Yeah, I knew he was going to turn, but still seeing him act so noble and graceful at first, then just turning and firing on Ironhide like that...'You are dismissed'...definitely W.T.F.?! It's similar to Fellowship of the Ring when Gandalf meets up with Saruman.

The humans...oh them:) ; Rosie is absolutely better than Megan...she has a MUCH better attitude about everything in the movie. Shia is a little less annoying than in ROTF, and the same goes for his parents. Dylan played the evil 'in employment for the 'Cons' part nicely, Simmons was more subdued this time around (thank goodness), but still had some humor along with his 'manservant', Dutch.

And then there's Optimus Prime, I couldn't even conceive of his character, in any TF series, to act the way DOTM Prime did. To see him at the end, with Megatron's and Sentinel's corpses lying there, sent chills through me. It seemed to hit me that he was a cold, merciless killer. However, it was his motivation to protect his fellow Autobots as well as the entire human race that drove Optimus to do what he had to do. Even with that, I will not look at OP quite the same way as I did before.

Negatives...I do have some. During the whole Chicago battle, Decepticon fighters were these drone(?) controlled vehicles; somewhat agile, but fairly easy to bring down. Sure, have a bunch of them patrolling the skies...but this scene was just begging for Seekers...for a dedicated Decepticon Air Force.

Which leads me to...Starscream. I beg, plead to whomever writes/directs the next TF movie to utilize this character a little more than he has been during Bay's franchise. Still, the few times that he was onscreen (Shuttle/Chicago scenes) were impressive. I particularly like the lines he said while pursuing Sam/Carly. Though, being the SS fan that I am, I cringed a bit during the grapple hook/boomstick scenes where he was flailing around blind desperately trying to escape.

Overall, I give Transformers DOTM 8/10. The main premise of this film was to give viewers one Hell of a ride...it sure gave me one! :D

it all went downhill for me when Q was executed. from there on, all the random robot deaths, including starscream, megatron, and sentinal, just seemed overly gruesome and senseless. Movie Optimus Prime is a homicidal maniac, and I prefer my Prime's heroic. Good riddance.

And killing Starscream like a sniveling whiny bitch was kind of suiting, but still disappointing.

Went to a 9:15 PM showing at Showcase De Lux in Sharonville, Ohio. One word: WOW! It was easily the best film in the series. Hoping to see the Bots and Cons return in a similarly formatted film in the future!

Now let's start rooting for Chicago, IL as the next stop on the BotCon tour in honor of DotM!

Well it's 200 Decepticons against 9 Autobots. They are going to need to humans, but the important part is that without the Autobots, the humans can't win and that was missing from the first two movies.

Just saw the local 3D first showing at 9PM, and I thought it was EXCELLENT overall. I think they managed to correct about eighty percent of the things that were wrong with the first two. I do still have gripes, including excessive unnecesssary and blatant sexuality, and the fact that Wheelie is back...and has a little deefus buddy now. Ugh. Also, Dino. I love the bot and the car, I HATE that name. Terrible idea, and Hasbro should have really put their foot down on this and told Bay he was an idiot. I will hereby refer to him properly as Mirage. However, minor quibbles aside, I was very happy with it.

I also thought it did a great job of showing Transformers and humans as equals and allies in the pursuit of saving our world, without the humans being helpless and annoying. It also did a good job, I thought, of showing the brutal, ruthless terror tactics of the Decepticons, shooting down innocent civilians as they fled and basically strafing refugees for no reason at all.

    A few high points...

    -Cosmic Rust. NICE nod.
-Original theme catch line worked into the copier sounds without being too blatant
    -Soundwave
-Barricade lives! Well. Lived. Maybe not so much anymore, though I don't think they finished him off after blowing his feet to smithereens. Hmmmm...
-Army of Darkness reference ("I call them Boomsticks.")

Wow! It was great. Way better than the first two. So many good parts in this movie. The emotion was intense. Especially the scene where BB is to executed. The death of Ironhide was unexpected as was Sentinal Prime's true role and intentions. OP is a total badass! I was very pleased with the non-existant toilet humor. As some earlier posted, this movie had heart. I actually cared about the characters in this movie. Glad Megan was replaced and Sam's parent's role was good too. Liked the story.

    I have some questions

    1. "Dino" is Mirage or not?

    2. "Q" is Wheeljack or not?

Seemed as if they took the place of Skids and Mudflap, but toned it down a bit. Goofy and all they come through at the end.

I loved it yes but the pace of the movie to me was a little slow so very litle fights and everything was dumped on you at the end.

Laserbeak was cool and surprised he talked.

I expected ss and megs to die but not like bitches. Ss went out like comic relief and megs put up no fight at all against a one armed prime.

Shockwave made to look badass but went out easy too.

The can build technology to transport a fuxking planet but get hindered by a person swinging from their eye and a parachute covering your face?

    Bah.

Dark of the Moon was like the Toy Story 3 of Transformers. Badass, simply badass, and indeed very dark and less funny. Ironhide's death really rocked me to the core.

Also, Megatron doesn't down Sentinel then fight both him and Optimus. He asks for a truce with OP to take down SP and retake the Decepticons.

This movie is f***ing perfect in 3D as far as visuals go. The story is a lot leaner and felt meatier then ROTF. Is it a perfect movie? Nah. Is it still a damn good one? Hell yes.

Michael Bay, you done good. You done good.

Just got back, and all I can say is I had a lump in my throat most of the movie..I had read the novel, so not a lot of surprises for me, but the way the film looked, the special effects just blew me away.
This Optimus Prime had had enough, enough of the fight, enough of the Cons and their domination of the planet..their schemes, etc. It's was amazing how well the Autobots and humans managed to gain the upper hand in the final battle. Even I had a moment of regret for Megatron. Sentinel got what he deserved.

Great jobs on the actors parts and of course, the CGI teams, awesome work folks!!
To Michael Bay, all is forgiven for ROTF, but sadly it will always be out there.

I thought it was good. Great action and good comedy. Decepticons still don't get enough development and some deaths are a bit, "odd" for loss of a better term, but I enjoyed it.
