Well, The Hobbit Shopping has Begun For me! My Wallet is Now Dead, But I'm One Happy Customer I Bought:

    Thorin's Map
    The key to Erebor
    Bilbo's Contract
The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey chronicles Art and Design
and Going to be Getting the Orcrist :D

I Don't know it Looks rather fake to me, :inquisiti
Especially since Beorn is a Skin changer and turns Completely into a Bear and Not Half Man, half bear,
though they might have changed that in the Movie,

and it's Also all but Confirmed, that he Will not be Appearing in the First Movie so I'm Like 95% sure that is Not Beorn

The Hobbit is a children's book. The Stone Giants are never explicitly explained, in fact it's almost a throwaway comment that makes you doubt that they even actually exist. In typical Peter Jackson style he couldn't help himself but turn this into a literal action sequence. Sometimes I do weary of PJs complete lack of subtlety...

Am I the only one not blown away by this trailer?

Extended Edition Of THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY Coming Next Year

It was kind of expected they would do the EE's on the Hobbit trilogy (surprising they have stuff left to add in!) since the EE LOTR was so well received, but at least they are letting us know officially in advance. I wonder if it will be additional 20,30 minutes like it was last time.

I'll probably hold out for a massive LOTR/Hobbit blu-ray set of ALL the extended editions. I have the EE of LOTR on DVD but I haven't upgraded to blu-ray yet. Might as well wait until it's all out and put together nicely. I'll have to wait a few years but it is better than buying something multiple times.

And millions of Star Wars fans just let out a long, defeated sigh.

Now I'm wondering if I even want to bother seeing the first cut of the film in the theater or just wait for the EE, which will likely be more rewarding.

Okay, thanks for correcting me. The link you've provided shows that it is in fact a goblin, and not a wild shaggy bear-looking man as I first thought it was. Thanks again.

I would still see the theatrical edition. Then watching the EE would be like rediscovering the awesomeness now with added awesome :)

My only concern is that with them extending it into a trilogy I'm very surprised there's much left to add that would be of worth. I just hope the theatrical editions don't get shorted because they purposefully left stuff out for the EE's.

Howard Shore's score was one of the best things about LOTR and is very close to my favorite movie score (if not my favorite!). I can't wait to hear what memorable themes he has come up with for the Hobbit.

I already get the Dwarves' song stuck in my head all the time and I haven't even heard the whole thing yet. Very much looking forward to the soundtrack!

When Legolas took a bite of lembas bread and commented one bite can fill a man's stomach, then Pippin looking around furtively and farting after having eaten a whole thing of it.

I guess I should have posted an update on that EE post. Apparently WB reissued that calendar but the Hobbit EE was no longer on it.
THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY Extended Edition Blu-ray Removed from Warner Bros. Calendar | Collider

Still, it's almost a guarantee there will be one at some point.

It's ironic that it's the shortest one so far and it's still two hours and forty minutes long. I'm not complaining about length; if I have to sit for seven and a half hours straight to watch a movie like this, I guarantee you that I would do if it's good enough. I just hope that the second and third one don't go with a run time of just under two hours and then have a ninety minute third one.
