i know these tend to be common now-a-days but i actually need some help here.

i have come accross some fun money and have some items i am seriously considering adding to my collecion.

Below are the figures i am considering (only 1) and next to it my concerns
there will be a poll up top please post your reasoning if you vote

1 buster prime - my concerns are many but i love the look of this guy, i am curious how it looks with the rest of the hasbro movie toys (will it outshine them and make the rest of the movie toys look dull) and will takara release a similar version with the DOTM abs

2 MP thundercracker - pics dont seem to do this fig any favors sometimes he looks dull and others he looks realy vibrant i have the walmart release of starscream and skywarp, along with the igear conheads. would i be better off to wait and see if igear pops out their rumored version, or get the takara version?

3 takara 2010 unicron- I do not own any of the versions of this mold and thought that the amazon exclusive would be the one that did it, but i thought it did not have the Clear Hand of Doom, now seeing that i like the takara version better, but if i get stuck with 2 of the same shells, will i be stuck with them.

1 takara 2010 primus- again never owned this mold in any of its variants, he keeps dropping in price on BBTS and i keep telling myself if it drops under 100 i will get it reguardless.

neither of the final 2 options really have major concerns like the first 2 and they alone will probably be set to display on their own perhaps with the wfc figs i have who knows. anyway poll is above please advise

 

If I still collected the MP line, I would be all over the Seekers in a heartbeat.

 

MP Thundercracker's deco isn't dull, but the 'sparkle' in the paint work is quite subtle.

There's some speculation that Striker Prime will share (some of) the Buster Prime deco, after the tiny picture that popped up last month, but Kapow Toys were specifically told no chrome.

What iGear are doing with the Seeker mold, i'm not sure of. Although i could've sworn they *said* (not) Sunstorm would be the last one.

I think Amazon Unicron will be around for a while yet, and will be a better alternative to the Takara version for quite a few people.

Primus....... if the price keeps consistently dropping, there's probably no need to jump on it yet.

All those things considered, i might suggest holding off a month or so until you have a better idea of what products are actually available.

 

I'd say go with MP TC to be honest. While Igear might be coming out with a version of the character with the modified tail fins, he won't look all that right next to the hastakomy versions, unless you were to sell those and jump for the Igear version of those if you have them. With Bust Prime, I think you're right about the idea that it will outshine the Hasbro figures without getting some paint apps applied to them (I AM open for commissions  , though I am sure you could do this yourself.). Unicron or Primus, well thile their status's of who and what they are, I think if you have the Armada/Cybertron versions of the character, it's nothing a little paint on them wouldn't really take care of for them. Only thing that Armadacron really needs is a cast of the 210/25th anni head..

I am glad to hear that thundercracker isn't as bland as he seems

 

I'd have a hard time deciding between Buster Prime and 2010 Unicron, but would probably end up going with Unicron.

 

mp thundercracker hands down. unless takara does a reissue or hasbro does a g1 deco which to me seem unlikely hes an easy way to complete the set.

unicron and primus will be around for a while but tc has been out quite literally for awhile so get him while the price is reasonable (although that amout is high.)

 

I voted Buster Prime, because it seemed like the only problem you had with him was that he looked too AWESOME!!!

 

I voted for Buster, but on Thundercracker's deco, it is a thing of beauty to me. It looks just as rich and pretty as just about every other Thundercracker toy that's been released (I think the only "dull" one I own is the Movie Voyager).

All four of the options actually have really pretty decks (I own all four and enjoy each), so I think you'll be happy with any option you take here.

 

I'd probably get Primus 

When things get stupid expensive (TC and Takara Unicron), it really turns me off. I'd rather get something else for their going rates you know? 

 

I kept thinking if I held out long enough thunder racket would show up in the us then I checked eBay and he went from 89.99 to tgdm

Are you really in the mood for a repaint of some kind or are you going for the molds? I've not checked prices in a while, but you used to be able to get US release Primus dirt cheap.

I'd say get Buster Prime; he's the most movie acurrate Prime we'll ever get.



Honestly now, there's a whole bunch of way cooler bots you could get for the crazy amount of money you'd be dropping. Maybe that's just me though.

For what I collect these are my remaining expensive bots, but feel free to post your thoughts on what might be cooler as you may know of something I've never heard of. But as far as repaints, I have none of the unicorn or primes molds and for some reason I prefer the Takara repaints of unicorn and primus.

He does seem to be winning the poll and I have one on my eBay watch list

 

I'd personally want to have 2010 Unicron first, but considering there is an Amazon alternative to that for about 1/2 price now, I'd have to say that buster prime is the clear winner IMO.

 

Get Buster Prime. He is slowly creeping up in price. This will most certainly be the nicest version of movie Prime we will get that transforms. He has awesome pin striping and the chrome is really nice in vehicle mode. The gun is really fun too.

 

Mp Thundercracker makes the most sense to me. Only to complete your MP seeker jet set.
