The hell is up with Takara pumping out Masterpieces left and right nowadays?

I remember when they were a far more infrequent thing, maybe once a year or so, less?

I mean my God we went from what..MP5 to what 13 or 14 in a couple of years? What the hell happened?

I mean just look at how many Masterpiece figures have been released just this year/early into next year.

    Eh sorta...

It just struck me as odd. The Masterpiece line was a relatively small line, a release here and there of certain iconic characters, really high production value (for the most part), something to get hyped up for.

Now I've actually straight up lost track on everything being released in the line.

Hell I only just remembered that Leader SS and Ultimate BB got released under the line recently.

I've no experience with the recent figures in the line so I can't say one way or the other about their quality, and I'm not assuming they are of any lesser, but it just kinda surprised me that one of the articles on the front page is talking about like 2 or 3 new MP figures.

Also reminds me of how a band I used to listen to started releasing like 3 or 4 albums a year, and I just completely lost track of them all.

I don't see the problem.......this is nothing but good news.

I doubt you'd find many who'd think it was a bad thing either.....in fact I'd personally love MP's to get released on a monthly basis as there'd be more chance of completing certain lineups.

No we want them on an orderly schedule.

    Say bi-monthly or quarterly.

Who the hell in their right mind wants to rack up $$$$$ like this on a credit card because they don't give us some time between releases.

This is just creating a clusterfuck that ends up pounding our wallet on a continuous cycle.

I like them and will get them all, but do the math on Masterpiece and Encore coming out between now and March. This is supposed to be a hobby not a bend over and bleed.

Yes I have a real job a house and disposable income.

The Japanese toy market doesn't have the same economies of scale as the American one, and Takara want more monies.

Different line, and it's Battle Ops BB, not Ultimate.

You can just not buy it when they release and buy it later, think of that? I'm sure they won't sell out dry in a year or two....

My only complaint is that they aren't pumping them out fast enough. I need the first wave of Autobots in MP scale pronto!

I'm ok with the accelerated release schedule so long as it does not have an adverse effect on quality. Like the next fan, I want my favorite characters to receive the MP treatment they deserve and this fast n' furious timeline will almost assuredly ensure we see all of the iconic mainstays at some juncture. The only question is...will they be the quality we expect for the price point? I sure hope so, especially since my all-time favorite character and probably the masterpiece figure I'm most looking forward to is up next. Fingers crossed!

Pre orders are cheaper and what about the figures that do sell out?

Then u get bent over again going aftermarket.

There would be nothing wrong with going to a set schedule so everyone would have time to plan out and buy purchases.

Wait till people start leaving the hobby because they can't keep up if it stays like this. It is a valid point.

But you don't have to buy and you certainly don't have to buy everything. If you don't have the money it isn't shameful to pass. Ppl may/will have to prioritise like recently I've seen numerous ppl stating they are just collecting MP's from now on.

For the MP only collector this is heaven and about time.

But I want to buy them and I can buy them.

I do G1 and homage aka Masterpiece.

The vast majority here still do not collect MP only, G1 only or Beast Wars only.

The $$$ amounts involved if it stays like this are taking the hobby out of it, I want to see new things too, but not all at once.

The bigger impact for TT will be quality pushing things out as well. What is the rush if we end up getting a version 2 anyhow? Everyone should stand back and take a breath, it may just make all our lives easier

just my 2 cents on it. I would love a steady stream lets say 1 big one (+150$) then 1 smaller one (G1 car or cassettes) and 1 a big one again a year. OR 4 G1 cars in a year (price wise)

It would give a nice steady stream of them like 1 every 3 or 4 months and spaced out. I dont like it too much when suddenly multiple ones are announced shortly after one another like now with sideswipe, soundwave, red alert and all the cassettes just because it makes it difficult budget wise (for me at least :D )

Honestly, this doesn't really affect me as I don't collect the masterpiece line, but I know a lot of people want the figures to come out more often, so this doesn't strike me as a bad thing.

Lol relax, not everybody is as anxious as you to get every figure out on release day, even from lines we collect.

Some hobbies are expensive, some aren't. Ours is becoming expensive in the past year, the years before it were a breeze.

I don't have a preorder for Frenzy and Buzzsaw [or Rumble and Buzzsaw? whichever] yet because I can wait for two moulds I already have duplicates of. I don't have a preorder for MP10B yet, and so on.

Heck, I only bought MP10 Convoy a YEAR after his release. Relax, people don't mind spacing out their purchases.

Enh, it's good for the MP fans, but MP is probably the least interesting TF line to me because they're so slavish to the G1 character models. That's probably why I prefer CHUG for my neo-G1 toys.
