Here's one thing I've always claimed. If the ESB were to come out today the same delusional fanboi's would denigrate it to oblivion. Here's a collection of quotes from the ESB original reviews.

Anyone who judges an entire movie based on 9 seconds of footage deserves the condemnation. However, I do apologize for the mild insut 

 

1. No movie will ever please everyone. There will always be negative opinions to line up with the positive.
2. Nostalgia can be a very influential thing.

 

I don't recall ever having stated that the entire movie was bad in any of the myriad of comments I have made on this and other threads. When I point out the crudeness of the humor and how distasteful and out of place it is the movie backers are immediate and swift in saying I have no right insulting the whole movie.

The fact of the matter is I have never insulted the entire movie, I have not seen it yet, but I will comment negatively on parts of said movie that are stupid and detract from the franchise as a whole.

btw, i would not describe these reviews as denigrating ESB "to oblivion". They seem balance, and give credit where the reviewer thinks credit is due.

I feel bad for people like you. It must upset you so much that the entire fandom is not bowing at the movie's altar this time around. Get over it. People are going to have reasonable and well though out gripes with ROTF. If you like it, be happy and show some self confidence. Whining about how other people don't like the movie is just going to make you look silly.

 

Can't someone think a movie is crap without other people getting all defensive?

Note: I haven't seen it but I expect it to be crap given, a) negative reviews from "people who I agree with 90% of the time" (that's the important bit), b) the fact that I've never liked any Mick Bay film I've seen and c) the fact that I thought the first one was a bit rubbish.

I disagree, those reviews savaged the movie and utilized the same asinine arguments being made today by disgruntled people like you.

Actually it doesn't upset me. Probably because this will be the biggest movie of the Summer. The entire fandom has never bowed to anything. So it's illogical to assume that I would hold such a rudimentary assumption.

I'm not whining, I'm highlighting the historical fact that the same arguments being used to disparage ROTF have been used in the past to denigrate similar movies of the same genre. And since you've failed to understand that makes you look even sillier.

I think it's moronic to pay for a movie you know you won't like. Why is it so hard for you haters to practice what you preach and stop financially supporting Michael Bay's movies?
