In my opinion a retool should be slightly more. If it’s double the price it’s like purchasing a whole new sculpt.

Do we think there will be a box set of these Seacons or will it only be piece meal?

I want to say that Deluxes and Voyagers in the Takara legends line sold for the same, if not more. And those were mostly repaints with minor retools.

These are extensive, though. So much is redone, it's 50% new mold. Yes, the core robots are the same, no denying, but the animal shells are all brand new from the ground up. Plus the hands and feet for Piranacon as well as all of the new accessories and the fact that they can turn into Targetmasters... Extensive.

I would complain that they cost too much; but as you pointed out, there is a lot of work that went into making these the way they are. The price definitely makes it feel worth it with the retooling and added Targetmaster mode.

I am going to hold off for right now and wait until closer to release to preorder them.

If you order through Pulse, they have a cut-off date of 8/27/19 so if you don't order it by then, they won't let you order it (but it'll list it as in stock for some reason). My recommendation is just to pre-order them. They don't come out until January and it gives you a lot of time to consider where or not you want them while still having a claim on them. Plus, you can cancel them later if you decide you don't want them or if money becomes tight.

Why are they available that long? That seems odd.

Anyways, I can dig into my savings if I need to.

I didn't see any kind of date restriction when I preordered them from tfsource... Maybe its a pulse thing?

I agree, but there’s an easy solution: don’t buy it. That’s what I’m going with myself.

We might but I wouldn't bank on it. The fact that these are being treated not as Generations Select but Takara Tomy Selects makes it clear that this is the main way Hasbro will release them; they aren't going to in a couple months do their own version, like Lancer.

There may be a box set down the road but if anything that will likely be around if not more than buying each one separate.

I've never owned the Seacons and don't have a connection to them, but he looks like one of the best Combiners that HasTak has made.

So I pre-ordered the first 2 and will see how it goes. If they are later announced as Generations Select and drop in price, I'll just cancel.

Yeah it's just Pulse. I don't know what tfsource's cancellation policy is but I suggested Pulse because it was easy to cancel if need be and plus we're on the Pulse thread so gotta keep on topic.

Does Pulse offer free shipping for spending a certain amount, or is it Premium only?

I think if you spend $50, you get free shipping.

They look way too good not to own. Preordered. I've spent more on worse.

Well it's been over a week since I last talked to Pulse and they STILL haven't refunded me for the broken Chromia I sent it.

The Seacons are more because that's what Hasbro decided was enough to make it 'worth it' for them to produce at all.
Seacons have always been one of the more niche combiners and even the G1 reissue languished in clearance for a long time.
If the higher price tag is what allows this to exist at all, I'm all for it.
