FYI: Earthspark Deluxes are now $19.99 on Pulse. Amazon has also marked them down to reflect this. Originally they were $24.99...which is also their price at retail at the moment.

Got a shipping soon email for core-class Sludge and Slug. I'm quite intrigued by the combined mode it's supposed to have, admittedly.

It's just the head, chest, and torso. Truly gimped without limps.

My Buzzworthy Optimus charged overnight, which was a surprise because I didn't remember I ordered one. I ordered one from Target for 20% off with a coupon months ago that already came, so I'm trying to get Pulse to cancel and refund me before this ships. I've had mixed luck before with doing this, so we'll see what happens.

Oh, and Black Series Grogu shipped for anyone interested

Any sign of Dead End movement from Hasbro Pulse?

Yeah I hate that. I wish they were more consistent with the 'an item is about to ship' emails. It feels like I only ever get them on the items I definitely want, but the ones I forgot about that I'd like to cancel, no emails, lol. I did the same as you, except I did remember to cancel this one, when I placed the Target order.

One way you can handle this is to make another checking account (with my bank it's pretty painless to do this) and use that checking account's card number for your pre-orders, and then just never keep money in the account so that your orders won't successfully auto-bill. When billing fails, pulse gives you 5 days to fix it before they cancel your order.

Just want to throw this out there, but this likely isn't an option for a lot of people. A lot of banks (including mine) will charge you maintenance fees for maintaining a checking account with less than a certain limit in it unless that account receives direct deposit payments each month.

I just keep a Google doc of what I ordered, where I ordered it from, and when it's coming. That way when I have my new item in hand and the QC checks out, I know where my backup order was and know to cancel it.

The doc helps me understand the upcoming charges and plan ahead too, so I never have to panic-cancel preorders every time something ships early.

Fourth! I always keep records of what's coming and I use a dedicated credit card for preorders so that if they come early, I can usually take the hit and pay it off before I get hit with interest. Worse comes to worse, I use my savings account to pay the card and reimburse. Given what little interest savings accounts give anymore, I'll find a way to survive the couple dollars loss! :p

I used to keep a spreadsheet when Pulse actually held to the release dates shown when you order. I typically only order items from Pulse if they're exclusives or I expect them to be difficult to find at retail, so I only cancel if I find them in store before they ship. Typically, I'll know to check my order history after picking something up to cancel it but for this purchase it didn't cross my mind that I would have ordered it two places. I try to make the most of my Premium account by not shopping anywhere else, but having a RedCard I do occasionally order from Target. I'll survive a $50 charge to a credit card, so missing something doesn't hurt me too bad in the long run.
