That's sucks man. He was probably a big influence for alot of more modern composers. Hope he gets some huge creds in the next Godzilla movie. Use Ifukube's music for the big money shot at least.
Yeah, "The March of Godzilla" being the most famous. Most of the newer stuff has had alot of great music... usually various remixes of "The March of Godzilla". As for Ifakube dieing... damn... for a man whom watched Godzilla from the age of 4 to hear that the man who made the music is now gone. Damn... it's sad...
Looks like i'm going to have to have a Godzilla marathon this weekend in rememberance. The Godzilla movies all had great music - all except the one with the "tuna eating lizard" (if you've seen Final Wars - you'll know what I mean!)
On a related note for any Godzilla fiends that might have missed it, Marvel is releasing Essential Godzilla next month.
