This is the last time I will probably paint this guy (I bought FOUR of these guys on clearance about 4 years ago ) Not including the 2 commissioned versions that I made of this guy, this is my 3rd version. I wanted to paint Cybertron as it looked in the Golden Age. A lot of the references were just gold. I tried to give it some texture by using different metallic paints. Started with the flat black base coat, then dry brushed some steel, silver, brass, and gold. Then went back and used gun metal and used copper for the high lights and then some red. Finally, sprayed the planet mode in Krylon Brilliant Gold and the gloss clear goat. This was a fun one to paint. Here's a video.
nicely done looks flawless... nonetheless I hate the colorscheme but damn that other one on there.... WOOOWWWW
Really? I personally love it. Khaki's one of my favorite colors and the gold/copper is pretty close to it. Let me know if you decide to sell it!
First...the planet mode finish is just simply spot on smooooth! Second...the contrast between 'bot mode and 'alt mode is stunning to say the least. VERY nice work my friend...very nice work indeed. You should be proud of this.
That looks freaking awesome! Love how you painted the planet mode, and the robot mode is equally fantastic. Love the colorscheme you gave it, really makes him feel like a god too. Very well done!
Love that my entire post got removed and not just the "hotlinked" photo. So, here it is again: Goldmember approves!
The Silver and Copper tones really play well together. Kind of gives an antique-ish, steambot vibe to Primus. Excellent detailing and overall great job!
