I'm afraid this could take a while, because that pic was taken three years ago, since then I moved and packed the boxes in my underoof.
But, I could actually take them down and shoot a picture of all the boxes together.
Thanks for stimulating this nice idea

They're about the same height. I think Galvatron is, too.

So, Black Shadow is just too expensive for the poor me. But, I can still have the next best thing... :p

This is an "Italian" KO of the infamous Victory character. Made in Taiwan and released in Italy in the early 90's. No idea what the package looks like. Since I discovered of its existence, at least other two incomplete have surfaced, and more people claimed having had it as a kid.

Anyway, apart from the bizarre flower logo instead of the Decepticon one, I can spot no difference from the Takara original. I'm judging from pictures only, since, of course, did never put my dirty hands on one exemplar :p

The only differences I can spot are the molding for the headsculpt, silver instead of white on the mini figure, he's pretty close, nice one

The group one you posted is from the auctions earlier this year, and I've posted pics from all those auctions below. I really hate that they were all grouped, that made the prices far too high. The Constructicon group ended up at a few grand. Additionally, none of the ones in the pics attached below are from the 2001 auctions where I got mine. A few of the characters are the same but the drawings are slightly different.

That Wheelie one you posted I have not seen before. I do have pics from the 2001 auctions of Wheelie models, but in finalized colors.

Nice, thanks for telling me. The wheelie one was an image (high resolution) from some auction site also had production bible stuff I think (or at least bits of it, one pic was a folder)

does anyone know if this color scheme was ever used on a Diaclone/TF toy with this mold?

I was looking at Diaclone promo artwork, and the red chest (rather than blue) would make a cool repaint.
Next year I'm going to do some toy repaints, and high on the list is a G1 Prime / Convoy (just a reissue, or even a KO) into the Diaclone Convoy (i forget the proper names) with Red head, blue cab, red/black arms, blue/grey legs.

The other cool stuff that on the auction site (archived images, nothing for sale) was orginal comic book art, production scripts and odd stuff like some cel sheets.

It's nice to see originals of the comic art, seeing as how 80's printing, paper and coloring conspired to make most comic art look like garbage compared to the original pencils and inks.

Could be mistaken but isn't that the Delta Magnus colour scheme?

EDIT: my bad, just looked at delta magnus and can see that I am wrong; I am sure Maz will be along in a minute and provide the correct info...

That's the prototype/mock up colour scheme for Diaclone Powered Convoy, it never appeared on the vintage toy, or reissue for that matter.

Interestingly, the artwork for the Ceji Joustra Diaclone version used exclusive artwork based on that mock up's colour scheme. Even down to the Fairlady Z gun.

    All the best

I'm fascinated by that Grimlock. It looks like it's the Classic Pretender version. Never seen a character model for that.

I know, I kept looking at it too, being a fan of all things Grimlock, and I remember his main looks from the various toys and toons - it draws you in and it's like "what is that??"

I love seeing early art for anything, but particularly concept stuff. It's just as interesting to see what they left out, as what they put in.

Yup, that one's pretty unique, as I believe it was only animated in a commercial. Here's a close-up I got from the auction pics:

Here's a few more that were only in commercials (the Duocons were in the intro to S4 of the toon, but the animation was originally from a commercial). These are pics I saved from the 2001 auctions. Remember, this is from before high-speed internet and digital cameras were a widespread thing, so the quality isn't the greatest as these were likely taken with a camera that *GASP* used FILM and were uploaded via dial-up so the file size couldn't be too high.

I agreed, space is a big issue.
Some of them were displayed on the net, some of them in display cabinet, some of them in storage.
