As for FatalT 71, you should get a G1 Megatron. He looks pretty good and his stock pieces make an excellent cannon













The ONLY thing I don't like about Megatron, his stickers. He looks so awesome with all that chrome, why cover it up with swirls and lines?

 

Those pics are convincing me I REALLY should take TFC 9 out of his box...

After Delicate Warrior, I may make G1 Megatron my next priority.

 

You haven't opened Starscream? For what it's worth, I'd open it; I dunno if you're keeping it sealed for $$$ reasons but that figure just hasn't skyrocketed in the secondary market. I brought him for 50 bucks shipped on eBay if that is any indication and he was released in 03 I think

 

Well, I have the regular Takara re-issue I picked up at Botcon and I opened him up and stickered him that night. I've had the TFC version for a while now, but never opened him. It's not for the secondary market value - I'm not in it for the money after all   There's just something about seeing him pristine and untouched in the package I suppose, that if I took the toy out and applied the stickers it might lose that special quality. Why it only applies to that particular toy, and none of the others, I couldn't tell you.

But seeing how good yours looks - maybe for my birthday next week, I'll break him out  

 

I got my first G1 Megatron last year. Overall after paying seperately for a scope piece he cost me around $75. The first thing I did was strip away those old stickers! I added some Decepticon logos left over from a previous Reprolabels order, but that's as far as I want to go with adding anything back to him. I'm pretty happy with the results!

 

That is how he should look! My Megatron will look like that in 30 minutes  

 

Here is my $3 Megs garage sale find. I agree to keeping the stickers off the chest!





The clearance is non-existent but with some fiddling, if you move the barrel up at the same time as the arm struts you can fit it in place. It may mark the tab on the barrel and result in a point of wear. Don't force a minty Megs, IMHO.

Megatron manscapes? The end of an era I guess. There is a Metrosexualplex joke in there somewhere but I can't find it right now.

 

Yeah, I tried again and it was actually shaving the barrel peg off. Guess I won't be trying that anymore  

Just out of curiosity, How well does the barrel piece stay connected when you transform him into gun mode? Can you shake it?

Back on the subject of stickers, my Meg's just went Brazilian

Because of the way the chest collapses, the barrel is very solid in alt mode.

 

Now that is impressive!
