It seems you have a Mexican Grimlock, made by IGA. Those were exported from my country to Europe in the late 80s and sold in the UK and several countries at the same time the gold boxes reissues were available

Those have the country blocked like that

My MiB IGA and and another sample i got for a friend recently is not like that, perhaps its missasembled? broken? who knows

 

Hmm doesn't seem to be broken.
I also noticed the plastic under the tail chrome is a teal-ish color. I have a gold box Sludge and the plastic under the chrome is grey

IGA had a deficient chroming process so after time, it start to fade with normal manipulation

They also used whatever color pigments had to these plastics, since they were going to be chromed anyway, it wont be noticeable

 

Are repro boxes still a thing?

 

I asked myself if kids nowadays are so silly and dumb that toy safety standards require the Starscream reissue to carry those obnoxious breadstick missiles… then proceeded to accidentally shoot myself in the eye with them.

 

I got one years ago for my loose shockwave and it looks good.

I wish I knew someone that made one for jetfire.

 

I’m currently looking for someone that can cook up either small individual boxes for Soundwave cassettes, or a large gestalt size box for Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage, and Lazerbeak kinda like the Encore reissue set from Japan.

I will warn you that he basically makes them to order. Typically it takes him a week or so to make and ship them and about another 2 weeks for it to reach the states.

How do you prevent this sticker wear from getting any worse? Is this common with all G1 Optimus toys?

If seems like the metal plate behind the cab windows stick down too far? Is there a fix for this?

I just need Bugly, Finback, Splashdown, and Sky High to complete my G1 US Transformers collection (already have Euro complete and only 1 away from Japan unique mold completion).
