That's essentially Generations. Yes, it's more cartoon-based but a majority of the figures in G1 don't lend themselves well to articulated representations outside of that, plus its far easier to give a basic 5POA action figure joints than one with multiple moving parts.

After 35 years, I've finally got all five G1 Stunticons. I bought Motormaster and Drag Strip in 1986, and the remaining three this year. I'm missing a few stickers (Toyhax will, they say, be reissuing their Menasor set) and the little pistol for Wildrider. (If anyone has Wildrider's teeny pistol for sale for a likewise teeny price, please let me know. I'm in the UK.)

Now that I finally have all five pieces, I've found that there's some debate about which is the "correct" configuration of the limbs:

G1 box art + instructions (the tech spec is a left-to-right inversion of this)
    right arm: Drag Strip
    left arm: Breakdown
    right leg: Dead End
    left leg: Wildrider

TF wiki + cartoon + comic special teams poster
    right arm: Drag Strip
    left arm: Dead End
    right leg: Breakdown
    left leg: Wildrider

Having assembled Menasor both ways, the latter option looks better to me. Is there any "definitive" configuration?

Taking a break from cleaning and finally busted out my G1 Artfire with Inferno reprolabels. I really wish Toyhax did a set for Stepper. His labels were destroyed in the flood, but luckily the Targetmaster hips are in tact. The Decepticon ones from 1987 are such shit.

It's called scramble city for a reason ;)  Honestly have it which ever way looks best. As your research shows, there's no one right configuration.

Growing up I never had any of the Stunticons. By the time I had money to get them as a kid, they were long gone from store shelves. So when I got back into collecting in college in the late 90's, that was one of the first sets I picked up, along with Trypticon and a replacement Gears.

Artfire has such a beautiful deco; if I had one collecting holy grail (in terms of it being completely unobtainable), it would be him. Just a fantastic piece. I'll have to make due with the up Selects version, but I do hope that one day he gets a reissue.

Just gotta say congrats on this! This was one of the combiners I did have as a kid, and I love it so much. The Stunticons are certainly my favorite merge team of the Decepticons.

Man...I'd SO love to have an Artfire!

With your Stepper, could you not use the reissue labels?

Those masks weren't made for breathing, that's just not what they do.

One night those masks are gonna choke, the life right out of you . . .

Thanks. Having the five Stunticons after all this time does feel like finally being rid of a long bout of constipation.

Of the five early "Special Teams", the Stunticons were always my favourite. The Constructicons weren't available here in the UK in the ’80s.

Woolworths finally got the Chinese versions of Constructicons very late 80s early 90s. But I only ever found 4 of the 6.

I had been after this one for a while, and was finally able to add it to the collection!

Yeah, but it's hard to find just the labels for sale. :p

I did buy a reissue US Ricochet for the labels initially and for Nightstick since the original one is so fragile I won't transform it.

This is actually very similar to my situation. I never had the Stunticons back then, though my friend did. I played with his and wished for some of my own, but by that point I couldn’t find any.

10+ years later, I discovered eBay and the Usenet group alt.toys.transformers.marketplace. The Stunticons were not the first TF I got online (that would be Silverbolt so I could finally combine my Aerialbots) but they were my third. To this day I still consider it my best deal.

I remember discovering that newsgroup and filling holes in my G1 collection. First item: G1 Shockwave with electronics still working.

Also scored a complete G1 Omega on there.

I was never involved, but I read quite a bit. I even lurked here when we were "Transfandom" for the longest time.

    Boy, that's nice! Congrats!

Finally acquired a minty vintage Microchange Enemy at a great price. I'd been wanting one of these for awhile. I thought the Encore version would be sufficient but I didn't like the flat paint and tampos that Takara used. This one is MIB, complete with paperwork, and I think this may have even been the first time it was transformed.

Acquired (2) more Bluestreak puzzles so I could do this. Still need a MISB version. Going to frame the battleground one.
