Thanks! I've never had one fresh out of box with a sticker sheet used or used so I'm not sure about which stickers were included or not.

Sunstreaker did not have headlight stickers. Only the Diaclone releases did, which sucks.

Scattershot knows he’s smart, he just doesn’t care. He’d rather fight.

    1576F892-B3D5-4038-9B0D-F676F474C230.jpeg
And he’s got the form to do it with. Scattershot is the team leader of the Technobots and the main torso of Computron. Grimlock built him tough too. Scattershot is definitely one of the stockier leaders of any G1 Combiner team. You don’t have any trouble believing this bot loves to scrap.

Seriously, look at how thick this guy is. Scattershot is one of my favorite Combiner figures. One, because he used to be the only Technobot I owned a long time ago. And two, because he just looks so damn cool. He’s very sturdy because he didn’t skip leg day. His overall design and frame is just so aesthetically pleasing, Scattershot is just a great looking robot with some major firepower.

His space cruiser form kinda gives you clues as to why his name Scattershot. The guy has guns built in everywhere.
    12C32E39-AB89-4574-AD08-2051AB905409.jpeg
You can even add another one up top while he’s going full bore with his main cannon gimmick.

Even in robot mode he can’t get enough. Scattershot looks ready to go holding Computron’s rifle. This bot is definitely a bruiser. He’s a solid robot with a really cool space gunship mode. Scattershot is not a bot that messes around. He knows how to strategize, but he’d rather go in guns blazing.

MurderShot is definitely the best of the combiner torsos. He's full of weapons, and very fine details. He has surprisingly a lot of articulation, compared to the other torsos. (Although, I think Hun-Grr might actually have a bit more.) He looks great in all three modes. He can hold all his parts (Beside the head/legs/feet.) in all three modes. He really is a great figure, and a great match for Hun-Grr.

Now, if only Hun-Grr came with that extra gun promised in the TV ad...

A few of the ladybird G1 books I’ve got, just trying to find a way to potentially incorporate them into my display.

Let's see, Laserbeak the Landlord, gets very angry when his residents don't pay up.

Hot Rod mistakes a strange glowy orb for the matrix. Oops.

Megatron tries to get into the power plant business.

And, Jazz tries to transform very very slowly, so he doesn't accidentally break that top panel. He doesn't want to kill his value, after all.

Looking to buy a G1 Prowl. Though I’ve heard of breakage issues with the hood and windows. Does anyone know if these were fixed later on, specifically with the 2002-2003 Hasbro/Takara reissues?

I have the reissue of one of the car brothers. But, my guess is it's going to have the same issues breaking. It doesn't appear to be anything 'fixed' compared to the originals I've seen. Plus, I have the G2 Jazz, which doesn't seem to have the issue fixed there too. Jazz having the same issues.

So, my guess is, no. But, a reissue Prowl will be much cheaper, and will be easier to replace if it broke too. I'd recommend that. I wouldn't even bother trying to get the originals of these figures. Unless you want them super mint, and 100% original. But, then they'll cost you a lot of money. If you just want G1 Prowl, find one of the reissues.

You can buy a nice fresh sealed Prowl here, or you can buy a broken one for about the same price, usually.

I mostly like owning the originals, but when it comes to the car brothers, Jazz, and other certain figures, I'd rather have the reissue, where I can handle it, than the original, where I spend loads of money to look at it.

A birthday present I received last week. Needless to say, very happy, this was my childhood VHS cover.

If I recall correctly, there are some slight mold changes on the Car Bros, but most are due to the fact it was a 20 year old toy at the time, and the molds just needed retooling to be useful. Or, to get them up to modern toy safety rules. Nothing major has been changed on these figures in terms of quality, or durability. Any of these figures with mold changes, like I said, is due to the molds being super old, or destroyed, or whatever. And, they had to make new ones.

Any flaw the G1 had, the reissues most likely have too. It's the reality of reissuing toys. You get all the good, along with all the bad that comes with it. Only way around that would be to make new toys.

Only just realised there was a G1 appreciation thread

Went exploring in the loft at my parents the other day and found all my old G1 toys which was a treat, some (most) were in a real state of disrepair but I'm still going to try and get as many looking presentable as I can, including The Big Guy himself:
    20200802_004022~2.jpg
Haven't managed to find his other accessories amongst the jumble of toys yet but I'm sure at least the guns will be there somewhere.

I'm debating whether to attempt repainting his cab, feet and chrome and applying some repro labels to restore him to former glory, or leave him as is to age gracefully.

Bonus picture of my Hot Rods and Rodimus :D

When did you pick up that G1 Optimus? It looks very similar to mine, the first Made in China version released in the 1990s in full grid-style packaging. Perfectly painted pale yellow eyes, a quite purple tone to his legs, head and hands.

Maybe it's just the lighting. Love these worn-out Primes!
